The items were packed with yellow squiggles.

There’s an information card that lists all the items in the box with a short description for each.

What makes the box more fun are the prompts and challenges! There’s one prompt for each week of the month and for June 2019, the prompts are Sky, Tired, Rock, and Wet.

Everything in my box!

Strathmore 400 Series Pastel Paper Pad -Assorted Tints ($8.35) Pastel paper is one of the thickest and most durable papers commonly used for drawings and paintings.

This pack from Strathmore includes 24 sheets of assorted pastel paper.

Pastel paper is a thick textured paper that can also be used with graphite pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, and even oil pastel.

Each paper has a 9 in. x 12 in. dimension.

Velour Board. It’s a soft and versatile specialty paper that is easy and fun to work with. This specialized paper features a unique velvet textured surface. It’s the perfect canvas to use for your pastel, oil pastel crayon, chalks, and even charcoal.

General Pencil Multi-pastel Grey Tone And Primary Sets ($8.64) I got two packs of professional-quality pastel chalks! The first one contains 4 grey-toned pastels.

These are extra smooth, oil-free, and acid-free pastels made from pure pigment. They can be broken down into smaller pieces for your convenience.

The second set of pastels contains 4 sticks in different colors: red, yellow, green, and blue.

According to the packaging, these sticks are best used on colored paper or paper with a rough surface, just like the pastel paper we received in this box.

PanPastel Set of 2 (Ultramarine and Hansa Yellow) ($16.50) These are highly pigmented pastels with ultra-soft, lightfast, low dust, and easy-to-blend layered mix. We got them in blue and yellow.

These pastels come with a unique interlocking packaging that safely protects the powdered paint while keeping them separate and clean all the time.

This kit also includes a mini-booklet that provides all the information you need to know about the PanPastel Colors.

PanPastel Colors are professional artists’ quality soft pastel colors in a unique pan format (cake-like). The special qualities of PanPastel Colors mean that arists can blend and apply pastel (dry) color like paint for the first time.

They are made using a unique manufacturing process resulting in rich, ultra soft and super-blendable colors. Each color is loaded with the finest quality artists’ pigments for the most concentrated colors possible. The colors have excellent lightfastness and are fully erasable.

This brochure also introduces us to Sofft Tools, a new generation of specially formulated micropore sponge for applying PanPastel.

The other side of the brochure included some examples and drawings using the Sofft PanPastel set.

Sofft Tools 8-Piece Starter Set ($8.50) This kit features non-abrasive micro-pore sponge surfaces designed for artists to hold and release the perfect amount of color for smoother results.

The back of the packaging lists information on how to use the tools and how to clean them up.

The kit includes an oval knife, a round angle slice, a sponge bar, and 5 pieces of knife covers.

To use, simply load the sponge with color by swiping it for 1-3 times. You can create an effect by changing the pressure to change effects.

Here are some paintings I made using the pastel colors!

For the first one, I used the velour paper. The black background provides great emphasis on the color and shades. The color of the river shaded with a bit of white pastel makes it a little more realistic. Same goes with the forest!

For the second artwork, I chose the light brown pastel paper and used the neutral colors in a sketch. I loved the pastel colors because they’re well pigmented and they glide effortlessly on paper.

Doing both artworks was fulfilling!

Paletteful Pack is a great way to help one unleash their creativity! They send only the best art tools, like this month’s pastel chalks and paper, and they even provide prompts to help you get started. The impressive curation of premium quality art supplies is for artists and even for those who are making art as a hobby. I found new favorite art tools this month, the pastels! They are so handy and easy to use! The Sofft Tool kit is really awesome too, it makes shading a lot smoother. I absolutely love this subscription, and I’m looking forward to more art projects from the subscription!
