This book has a creepy and ominous vibe to it, which just makes you want to go through the pages faster. It’s a great book to read if you’re a fan of gothic romance and thrillers! I love how the author was able capture the essence of mystery in her fantastic way of storytelling. The characters are also well-written!

Haunted Hearts Coaster Set. It’s an OwlCrate exclusive coaster set which came nicely packaged in its own box!
Each coaster comes with a quote from a famous show or movie, including The Vampire Diaries, Crimson Peak, Northanger Abbey, and Pablo Neruda.
I love the gothic vibe! The coasters are a stylish way to help keep any table or surface protected. My favorite is the one from The Vampire Diaries. These are words Niklaus Mikaelson told Stefan Salvatore: “Don’t underestimate the allure of darkness. Even the purest of hearts are drawn to it.”
Enamel Pin. This month’s pin is made by Icey Designs exclusively for Owl Crate. It features a burning candle along with fresh red roses at the base.
There are 2 posts at the back that enables the pin to be securely attached to a bag, a jacket, or even a banner!
Magnetic Picture Frames. I also received magnetic picture frames inspired by The Beautiful and The Shadows Between Us!
I like that they included frames for landscape and portrait photos. Both designs were in black and white, and they also have that Victorian-slash-gothic vibe!
Wooden Page Holder. This wooden piece can help keep the pages of the book open while you’re reading. There’s a hole in the middle where you can insert your thumb to use it. It even has an engraving that says “there is music in your soul.” It’s inspired by the musical Wintersong!
Ceramic Travel Mug. This is another OwlCrate Exclusive item and the third installment in the 2021 Reading Through the Seasons Drinkware Collection!
The pretty fall-themed mug also came with a reusable silicone sleeve!
This is a great way to bring your drinks on the go, plus it’s reusable so it’s great for the environment as well. The cup even features a quote from Emily Bronte: “Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”
I love the autumn palette used by artist Macarena Chomik on this design. Another thing I like about it is that it’s easy to clean and it can hold both hot and cold drinks. It’s also microwave and dishwasher safe!
Calligraphy Kit. This lovely writing set came in a box with an inscription that says “hearts were beautifully fierce yet fragile things,” a quote from Stalking Jack The Ripper.
This is perfect for writing letters or even journal entries! It even came with its own base stand so you can display it nicely on your desk.
The quill has an embossed floral pattern on its grip. I like that the piece has a antiqued look to it.
The body of the quill also looks really stunning. It looks like it’s a glass with a twisted pattern on it. I also noticed how the grip of the pen corresponds to the design of its holder that even the base of the ink container has a floral pattern engraved on it.

This month’s YA book was amazing and I loved the flow of the story! I’m looking forward to the next installment in the series. The bookish items were also really great. My favorite are the gothic coasters and the fall-themed travel mug! They are perfect to use when I want to enjoy my favorite fall drink. I also appreciate the inclusion of the calligraphy kit because I can use it when writing letters for friends and family!
