Kinder Beauty Box is a vegan beauty subscription box. This subscription sends out two variations every month and I received the COSMIC CLEANSE BOX Collection for August (the other box was called GALAXY GLOW). I received a shadow palette, makeup brushes, and more! The difference between the COSMIC CLEANSE box and the GALAXY GLOW box is that the Andalou Naturals shave cream scent will vary and there is an Acure item rather than an item from Captain Blankenship.

Andalou Naturals Lavender Thyme Botanical Shave Cream ($10.99) I thought this shave cream did a good job, although I prefer a thicker foaming gel simply because I can see the path that I’ve already cleared when shaving my legs, while this looked more like body lotion. The scent was ok, it reminded me a little of cleaning products. It was gentle on my skin and in fact I felt like I needed to wash it off with a cloth afterwards to get all of the product off of my legs.

Captain Blankenship Liquid Soap ($8 listed value) Subscribers received one of three products from this brand, all of which are now discontinued. It looks like they had a makeover maybe around March and only make haircare products now. The product was sealed but I could tell right away that the oils inside had gone rancid — I get that it isn’t going to smell like Bath & Body Works but it shouldn’t smell bad. My daughter confirmed that it smelled awful so this is going into the trash.

Laguna Herbals Restore Vegan Nail & Cuticle Serum ($25) Now this product smells good (and natural) and will be used over and over again in the next few months. It’s a nail serum made of plant oils and extracts and is scented with essential oils (described as lavender and citrus). It can be used at any time but I will be applying it before bed and hope it helps improve the look of my cuticles.

Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish Brush Trio ($18) This trio of brushes have vegan bristles and go perfectly with the item shown below. I like the golden handles and will get the most use out of the Pigment Packer brush and the Crease Control brush. The Detailed Diffuser brush is too soft for my needs, I prefer a bigger brush for that purpose.

Athr Beauty Moonlight Crystal Palette ($58) I was supposed to receive this palette in an Ipsy Glam Bag X earlier this year but it never made it to my house and the replacement box didn’t come with the same items so I was super excited to see this beauty show up! It’s got a whole lot of shimmery shadows with colors that make me think of a Celestial Fairy or something along those ethereal lines. Only three of the shades are matte while the rest are either shimmers, metallics, or duo-chromes. The color payoff depends on the shade and these can be applied dry or wet. I would suggest using a lid primer before you start layering the colors on and depending on how dramatic (or not) that you want your look to become, you may need to pair with some shades from your already existing collection.

Here’s the swatches! The first line down has the 4 triangles from the left, the middle line has the four diamonds/squares in the middle, and the line on the right has the 4 triangles from the right.

The Kinder August box came with an impressive shadow palette, some brushes to help apply them to my lids, and a lovely natural cuticle oil that smells light and citrusy. The shave cream was huge and also worked well and I’m probably set for the year now. The only product that I didn’t care for was the liquid soap but that’s because I believe the main oil was rancid and it didn’t smell good at all. As always, if you happen to receive a broken or off product then make sure to contact the subscription box directly so they can replace the item for you. The value for my box assortment was around $120, with a huge chunk of that coming from the palette alone.

I guess that’s a hazard of natural beauty products. Because they don’t contain preservatives such as parabens, they do tend to go bad more quickly, especially once they are opened

That is right Dia. I didn’t see a manufactured or use by date and since they no longer offer it on the brand’s website I’m guessing it was discontinued. Hopefully mine being off was the exception.
