Hygge Box is perfect for those who like to get cozy and comfy in their homes while connecting with their mind, body, and soul. The theme this month was Daydream and the items were inspired by the tropics or the desert and have ingredients like mango wood or smell like agave and so on. I received a bowl, hand cream, and more. See what else I received below! Please note that this is a review of the Deluxe Box and that extra item is at the end of the review.

Vitamasques Super Cactus Glow Facial ($6.99) I received this mask in another box this month and thought it was cool that it had three products in one — a cleanser, sheet mask, and moisturizer. It also has fragrance in all three parts so I am going to pass this on to my daughter as she has less sensitive skin than I do. All three parts have ingredients from cactus which I find so interesting!

Les Mirliflores Auguste Tea (about $6.20 USD) This tea blend comes from France and has green tea with pineapple and coconut, what an unusual flavor for a tea! I would suggest using 1 or 1.5 teaspoons of tea to 6-8 ounces of water that is just below the boil, as water that is too hot can make for bitter tea. Also, steep for no longer than 3 minutes for the same reason. This is loose-leaf tea so you will need to either place it in a steeper or bag or pour it out over a fine mesh strainer to catch all of the tea leaves. There is enough tea here for several cups, probably enough for a least two weeks worth of afternoon tea, if not a whole month. It smells wonderful when you open it up, so fruity, and I love pineapple. The flavor came through after steeping although in a softer version. Overall, it was lovely and would be delicious on ice.

Hygge Haus Soy Candle in Agave Citron ($12) I was quite pleased with the scent and throw of this candle. The notes are lemon peel, sugar, agave, and citrus fruits and it was sweet and fruity. If I’m not mistaken this is a similar scent to the popular Volcano fragrance that I’ve seen in fancy shops when out and about. I enjoyed having it nearby, it is perfect for summer.

Les Gourmands D’Ouest Pates de Fruits (About $12) I received these in the Strawberry and Sichuan Pepper flavor and it was unusual and delightful. It’s mainly a jellied strawberry candy covered in sugar and combined with Sichuan pepper. I was expecting it to taste peppery or spicy but that didn’t happen. Instead, it made my tongue feel weird at first, and I thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction. It turns out that the pepper has something in it that causes the tongue to turn numb (or some may experience a fizzing sensation). It was not a bad sensation and I enjoyed the flavor, so I’m trying to eat only one a day to help it last for at least half of the month.

TokyoMilk No. 84 Handcreme in Sonoran Bloom ($23) Margot Elena makes some of the prettiest bath and body items and this is one of her lines (she has others including The Cottage Greenhouse and Lollia). Sonoran Bloom is described as “Desert Splendor Awakened” and has notes of petrichor, saguaro flower, agave, and red clay. I used to live in the desert of New Mexico so I was thrilled to see those scent notes, and petrichor (the smell after it rains) is one of my favorites. This lotion had a warm floral fragrance and some of the ingredients are shea butter, cocoa butter, argan oil, and aloe. The box alone is wonderful, with a metallic gold trellis pattern on the inside. A treat you can see, smell, and touch.

Deluxe Box Item

Danica Mango Wood Bowl in Lagoon ($14) This bowl is made of mango wood from trees that no longer produce fruit, so they are taking something that is no longer useful and turning it into something beautiful. The bowl measures 6″ across the top and has a bright, tropical green/blue shade on the inside. This bowl isn’t for the microwave or dishwasher and shouldn’t even soak in the sink so I will use it for non-edible items or whole pieces of fruit (apples or something along those lines).

As always, Hygge Box sent some interesting items with a fun theme that I had no problem putting to use right away to relax and recharge. The candle scent was beautiful and helped my whole living room smell good, what a mighty candle it was! I also enjoyed the weird sensation on my tongue from the strawberry candies (my husband said it didn’t have any effect on him). The bowl was a pretty shade inside and the hand lotion smells nice and helped soften my hands. My daughter will be happy to get the mask next time I see her so it’s all good.
