Everything in my box!

To Love A Duchess by Karen Ranney ($26.99)

From New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Ranney comes the first book in a royally romantic and deeply emotional new series about taking risks and allowing the power to love satisfy the questions of the heart . . .

Undercover as a majordomo, spy Adam Drummond has infiltrated Marsley House with one purpose only—to plunder its mysteries and gather proof that the late Duke of Marsley was an unforgivable traitor to his country. At the same time, Adam is drawn to a more beguiling puzzle: the young and still-grieving duchess—a beauty with impenetrable secrets of her own. For Drummond, uncovering them without exposing his masquerade will require the most challenging and tender moves of his career.

That a servant can arouse such passion in her is too shocking for Suzanne Whitcomb, Duchess of Marsley, to consider. Yet nothing quickens her pulse like Drummond’s touch. It’s been two years since the duke lost his life in a tragic accident—and even longer since she’s been treated like a woman. But when Drummond’s real mission is revealed, and the truth behind Suzanne’s grief comes to light, every secret conspired to tear them apart is nothing compared to the love that can hold them together.

If you’re a fan of historical fiction and you’re okay with a slow burn romance, this should be up your alley!

It’s the first book in the All for Love series, but it’s also a stand-alone.

Although slow-paced, there are a bunch of satisfyingly sweet moments between the main characters Adam and Suzanne. The romance is believable, making this one a real page-turner. The prose also flowed quite seamlessly!

There are also some twists and turns that add excitement to the whole plot. It’s a wonderful read overall!

The Confectioner’s Tale by Laura Madeleine ($11.49)

“A delightful, delicious must-read.” –Nina George, New York Times bestselling author

A sensual tale, set in Paris, of love against all odds, family secrets, and the art of confectionery.

At the famous Patisserie Clermont, a chance encounter with the owner’s daughter has given one young man a glimpse into a life he never knew existed: of sweet cream and melted chocolate, golden caramel and powdered sugar, of pastry light as air. But it is not just the art of confectionery that holds him captive, and soon a forbidden love affair begins.

Almost eighty years later, an academic discovers a hidden photograph of her grandfather as a young man with two people she has never seen before. Scrawled on the back of the picture are the words “Forgive me.” Unable to resist the mystery behind it, she begins to unravel the story of two star-crossed lovers and one irrevocable betrayal.

A literary mystery and love story, The Confectioner’s Tale is as pleasurable as the finest French patisserie.

We’re already sold when we knew this is set in Paris, and that there are some delicious pastries involved. It didn’t disappoint because the author really captured the charm of early 20th century Paris through her descriptions!

It has mystery and romance all rolled into one well-written tale. I was definitely hooked!

There are actually two stories in the book, eighty years apart. The author did a great job of switching from one timeline to another smoothly!

This book made me want to go to Paris and visit a patisserie. It’s really that good!

BookCase.Club’s romance picks this month didn’t fail me! One is a historical romance, and it was really hard to put down. It’s the kind of story that will give you butterflies in your stomach before you know it! The other has mystery and romance which easily got me hooked because of the charming setting. It was also wrapped up nicely. Overall, I’m really satisfied with this book subscription! If you’re a sucker for romance, you might want to check out this lovely subscription. For those who are interested in other genres, there are Sci-Fi, YA, and Mystery/Thriller offerings as well!
