The Curiosity Box is a quarterly subscription box to satisfy your thirst for knowledge. Each box comes with 6-9 items that will not only entertain, but also educate you and your family. The subscription is $49.90 per quarter and a portion of all proceeds are donated to fund Alzheimer’s research.

This is their box #14!

The box is filled with stuff that will feed your mind.

Each item inside the box is individually packaged.

The Curiosity Box has a separate information card – it’s great for quick reference and for when someone steals your Curiosity Quarterly for bathroom reading.

It contains a list of all the goodies this quarter! And as always, INQ the octopus is our guide through the box.

There is an included info card… I think they have some news for us!

The box announces that there won’t be a magazine included in this box as they wanted to increase the quality of what the subscribers get in the box, try out new ideas and enhance interactivity, and will include a monthly newsletter instead, which will be delivered directly to the subscriber’s inbox. The newsletter will still include thought-provoking articles and in-depth coverage of the box contents.

There’s a promotional ad for YouTube Learning.

They have listed down some shows that are currently and will be streaming on the channel, like Age of AI, BookTube, Glad You Asked, and more!

Everything in the box!

Tangrams Deluxe Steam Game.

It’s time to fit in like a tangram master! Turn, flip, and drag shapes together to solve the puzzle and reveal a doodle.

A tangram is a Chinese logic puzzle in which you must fit seven pieces into a target shape without any overlapping.

  • Beautiful Presentation.
  • Intuitive Controls.
  • A doodle for each puzzle.
  • 200+ Puzzles!

The objective of the game is to solve puzzles by turning, flipping, and dragging shapes together, and then revealing a doodle. The game works on Windows, and Mac OS X.

Artist Spotlight Postcard. The Artist Spotlight this quarter features Nathan Anderson, a Michigan-based freelance illustrator. The illustration is from a medieval horror comic-in-progress which is tentatively titled “Unquiet Graves” that the artist has been working on during his free time. It looks like a skull wearing an armor!

The back of the postcard explains more about the featured artwork, while the other side is left blank for notes and other information.

Creator Spotlight Sticker. Erwin Schrödinger, a Nobel Prize-winning Austrian physicist, is known for his development of a number of fundamental results in quantum theory: the Schrödinger equation that is used to calculate the wave function of a system and how it changes dynamically in time. Also, he’s known for his experiment called Schrödinger’s Cat, and in simple terms, he stated:

…if you place a cat and something that could kill the cat (a radioactive atom) in a box and sealed it, you would not know if the cat was dead or alive until you opened the box, so that until the box was opened, the cat was (in a sense) both “dead and alive”.

That explains the illustration in the sticker, which is a work of Mithuna Yoganathan, from Looking Glass Universe.

There is also a card that shows some of the constellations: Cassiopeia, Pisces, Arie, and the Triangulum.

Galactic Cheshire Cat Shirt. The Cheshire Cat is a relatively poor group of galaxies, dominated by two luminous elliptical galaxies, and surrounded by at least four arcs, giving it a funny appearance.

The black overall color of the shirt really defined “the smiling face”! Scientists named it the Cheshire Cat after the character from Alice in Wonderland, who is a cat that has a human face and always grinning!

INQ’s 3D Mirascope. A Mirascope is a toy made of two convex parabolic mirrors that face each other. The light from the object inside, which is located at the bottom, reflects off the top and bottom mirrors before light rays meet again to form an image.

The box’s version works with any small objects!

It also comes with an info sheet that looks like a poster of a classic movie!

The flip side contains instructions and how the thing works!

There are actually 4 parts for this Mirascope, INQ included!

When we tried it, INQ looks like its hovering in mid-air!

It’s really amazing, and we’re looking for other small items to try in it!

INQ’s Golden Record Pizza Cutter. The next item that got us all curious is placed inside a black box.

The box has an image of what’s inside but if you don’t have sharp eyes, you won’t know what is it until you open the box.

Pioneers 10 and 11, which preceded Voyager, both carried small metal plaques identifying their time and place of origin for the benefit of any other spacefarers that might find them in the distant future. With this example before them, NASA placed a more ambitious message aboard Voyager 1 and 2, a kind of time capsule, intended to communicate a story of our world to extraterrestrials. The Voyager message is carried by a phonograph record, a 12-inch gold-plated copper disk containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth.

The Golden Record is a message of hope, and I think making it into a pizza cutter is really awesome!

The handle is shaped into a spacecraft, and the cutter itself features the Golden Record cover!

It really looks exquisite, I am really impressed with how amazing the cutter looks!

It features all the details that you can see on the Golden Record’s label. All we need now is a pizza to cut and enjoy!

INQ’s Ambiguous Illusion Kit. It’s another kit to discover, and we’re excited to know how ambiguous this Illusion Kit is!

The back of the packaging gives us more information and instructions on how to do it!

The kit comes with some interconnecting shapes and a mirror.

It will depend on your perspective, and how you see these things!

Here’s an example! In reality, we’re seeing an arrow pointing to the right, but when you look at the the mirror, it’s pointing left!

Is this 6 rings, or 8 squares? Our minds and eyes are playing tricks on us!

The illusion is best viewed at an angle of 40 and 80 degrees.

We thought these are 3 connected solid circles and the mirror shows us different shapes! It’s simply amazing!

You can also explore what’s inside the stars with these comprehensive and awesome illustrations.

There’s even a feature about different galaxy types!

There are different ways and equipment that you can use if you want to observe the beautiful sky.

There’s also an included timeline on how people have observed the heavens through the years.

Here are charts numbers 5 and 6, showing different constellations and formations that we also see in our sky!

In Greek Mythology, Perseus is the legendary founder of Mycenae and of the Perseid dynasty. He’s known as the greatest Greek hero that slayed monsters before the days of Heracles. It’s just right to name a prominent constellation to honor him.

Here are some of the known constellations like Musca, Circinus, and more!

If you’re curious to know how a star is born, you will also find it in this book. Starbirth is a process in which a cloud of interstellar gas and dust collapses to form a new star.

It’s always fun to know more about the universe we live in through books and toys! We’re always excited about this box that sends on a quarterly basis. The wait is always worth it, because they always send amazing geeky loot, tools, and books. We’re also happy to know that there will be a monthly newsletter. Our favorite this month is The Stars book as we learned more about heavenly bodies. The illusion kit and the Mirascope are also fun to play with! I also like the shirt’s design that features the Cheshire Cat. We really had fun trying everything from this box, and it’s the perfect box to share with the whole family!
