Here are my awesome new selections. I chose an even split between whites and reds. Sparkling wines and rosés are counted as white wine for selection purposes.

This month’s box includes an exclusive Winc card, in collaboration with Freeform, a cable channel by Walt Disney Television!

At the back is a Boozy Bingo! You just have to cross one box off and take a sip of wine whenever you come across the iconic movie moment during Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween.

Everything in my October 2019 Winc box!

We got two bottles of red wines and two bottles of white wines!

The first batch of wines are 2017 Far + Wide Grüner Veltliner and 2018 Debts & Lessons Reisling!

2017 Far + Wide Grüner Veltliner ($15.99; $13.99 if member) It’s a superbly crafted white wine, with aromas and flavors of fresh herbs, lime zest, pineapple. The fruit is supported by a balanced mouthfeel, definitely a perfect companion at the dining table.

Light and refreshing, it’s recommended to be paired with fish, shellfish, sushi, and salad!

2018 Debts & Lessons Reisling ($18.99; $16.99 if member) Made with the choicest grapes from a coastal single vineyard, this white wine opens on the palate with hints of green apple, honeysuckle, lemon rind, and wet stone. Its rich and juicy mouthfeel left quite an impression.

The superb quality of the wine provides for a wide range of food pairings, including Thai dishes, Indian dishes, shellfish, and vegetables.

Here are this month’s red wines: 2018 Restless Earth Petite Sirah and 2018 Porter & Plot!

2018 Restless Earth Petite Sirah ($17.99; $15.99 if member) This full-bodied red wine features strong fruit flavors like black cherry and dark plum, framed by earthy notes. It has a well-balanced and pleasant finish.

Ideally served in room temperature, this red wine goes perfectly with lamb, chocolate cake, chili, and fries.

2018 Porter & Plot ($32.99; $27.99 if member) Every sip of this wine is dominated with notes of citrus, lemon rind, wet stone, and white peach. It feels plush in my mouth!

It’s recommended to be served chilled and then warmed up in the glass to achieve its best taste. This wine pairs well with poultry, shellfish, and pasta with cream sauce, as well as Thai food.

Great wines, as expected! Wines from Winc are perfect for any party, or simply for pairing with your dinner and other meals at home. All wines this month exhibit fruity notes, which I really like. They’re smooth and satisfying as well. Of course, they didn’t forget packing the bottles securely to make sure everything gets to our door in great condition. If you’re interested in trying out different wine varieties or you like pairing wine with your meals, this subscription is a great way to start out!
