Butcher Box is a subscription box service that delivers premium quality meat for $129 per month. Each box comes with a selection of meat (about 15-20 meals worth) that has been carefully cut and prepared. The Butcher Box brings back that unique experience you get when you visit your local butcher shop. Their specialty is 100% grass-fed beef, but they also provided mixed subscription options. You can also have the box delivered every two or three months depending on your needs.

This is a review of the Beef & Chicken Box. Our box this month includes ground beef for life (2 pounds!) and wings for life (2 pounds!).

DEAL: Check out the current ButcherBox deal – just use this link to sign up! (Currently FREE 2 lbs of wild-caught salmon + 4 grass-fed, grass-finished sirloin steaks with your first box! )

Here’s a list of all the items inside the box!

All the meats are vacuum-sealed in plastic, packed in an insulated bag, and then kept frozen within the outer soft-side cooler padding and box with a large dry ice pack.

We’ve always had everything arrive rock-solid, so there have been no issues with temperature control during shipping.

All the meat arrives ready to throw in the freezer or thaw for use.

The flap of the box indicates a checklist, so you’ll know what to do with the contents when it arrives!

Everything in my box!

Here are all our choices!

Everything is portioned to a manageable size, so you can pull it from the freezer as needed without thawing more than you want. There are a couple of big roasts, but everything else is portioned smaller.

This box includes an extra pack of chicken wings, pork spareribs, and ground beef as add-on items.

Chicken Wings Sections. These are non-GMO and USDA-certified chicken wings. Each pack contains 7-10 pieces of all-organic wings, perfect for a barbecue party! They don’t contain hormones or steroids either!

Pork Spareribs St. Louis Whole. This cut of meat comes from the meatiest section of the pork’s spare ribs, which is located at the belly part.

This meat is usually trimmed down into the popular St. Louis-style spareribs by cutting away the hard breastbone and chewy cartilage, so its slab becomes more rectangular in shape.

Ground Beef. This meat is a monthly staple in our box! The grass-fed ground beef consists of 85% lean meat and 15% fat, making it the ideal ingredient to use for burger patties. So juicy!

This month’s box contains four separate pieces of one-pound packs. Aside from making it as burger patties, I also decided to try it for some casseroled dishes!

Chicken Breast. These are boneless, skinless, and all-organic chicken breasts, sourced from one of the meatiest and juiciest parts of a chicken.

This kind of meat is easy and quick to cook. It’s rich in protein as well!

Chicken Thigh. Another chicken meat in our box is sourced from the thigh part. There 2-5 pieces of organic, boneless, and skinless thighs in each pack.

It can be cooked in a lot of different ways. Whether baked, grilled, or fried, they’re perfect!

Grass-Fed Beef Boneless Chuck Roast. This part of the beef features a boneless chunk of meat gathered from the active muscle, meaning it contains lesser fat with a ton of flavor.

This meat is so lean and tender, making it the perfect type of meat for marinating, grilling, or even pot roast!

Grass-Feb Beef Rib Eye Steak. These meats are considered as the king of steaks, as they are mostly sourced from the center of the rib section which has the smoothest and richest texture. They are also the part with the most distinct beefy flavor.

We got a pair of 10 oz cuts, making it easier for me to cook separately. The steaks are also fairly lean and the bands of fat are decent enough to provide the big, greasy rib-eye flavor!

Grass-Fed Beef Strip Loin Steak. This cut of beef is also known as the top sirloin, which is taken from the top of the rump part of the cow. It’s a triangular cut with a nice layer of fat and tenderness!

Sirloin cap meat is normally used as a small roast, but since it’s so versatile, it can also be a major ingredient for other delicious dishes as well!

If you are for high-grade, all-organic, and grass-fed meat, then Butcher Box is definitely the subscription for you! What I love about this subscription is their wide selections of premium quality cuts that you can choose from. Our box this month includes chicken, pork, and beef. I also appreciate how safe they packed all the meats, making sure that they all arrive in their best condition. They all arrived frozen and ready to be thawed for cooking. It’s a little pricey, but still totally worth it!

Stay tuned for our “what we made this month” post to show you our goodies all cooked up!
