Blue Apron is a meal kit subscription that ships weekly. It’s great for anyone who needs help with meal planning, whether you’re just cooking for yourself or for the whole family. This subscription saves you so much time because you no longer have to research recipes and go to the grocery, everything is already provided in one securely-packaged box with ice packs and all you have to do when it arrives on your door is to cook. They offer a 2-Person Plan, which sends 3 meals a week of 2 portions each, and a Family Plan, which includes 2 to 4 meals a week of 4 portions each. You can set the delivery date and also tell them whether you have allergies or other ingredients you’re avoiding.

DEAL: Get $60 off your first THREE Blue Apron boxes! Just use this link to subscribe!

The Blue Apron website got a redesign recently, and you now have more options from which to choose for your meals.  It’s easy to switch up or add meals to your box.

We got the Family Plan for 2 meals. I set the delivery date and it arrived right on time, securely packaged in a heavy-duty box. All of the ingredients are wrapped in an adorable insulated blanket and cooled with ice packs.

Pricing: 2-Person Plan – $59.94 for 3 recipes. Family Plan (serves 4) – $69.92 for 2 recipes, $139.84 for 4 recipes.

The meat is at the bottom, surrounded by still-frozen gel ice packs. The new double-sealed meat packaging is great and keeps errant meat juice out of your box.

Other ingredients are individually packed. They’re also well labeled, so there’s no problem sorting them out and preparing them for cooking.

Also included in the box is an information sheet containing all the nutritional information per recipe.

The recipes also come with respective cards that contain detailed step-by-step cooking procedure and ingredient list.

The back of the card even included some high-quality pictures that serves as a guide, so you know you’re doing the right thing.

The ingredients are sealed and packed separately, most especially the veggies and buns.

Everything in my September 2019 Blue Apron box!

As always, all the ingredients arrived in great condition!

This month’s box includes a huge bulb of garlic to use in any recipes for which it may be needed.

Sweet & Spicy Chicken With Snow Peas & Jasmine Rice – 30 minutes, 580 calories

Chicken, vegetables, and rice in one meal make it really filling! The cornstarch-coated chicken came out juicy and tender. Mixed with the sauce and the sauteed snow peas, it became a wonderful explosion of flavors and textures in my mouth. Adding even more texture to the dish are the chopped peanuts and green tops of the scallions. Overall, it was just the right blend of sweet and spicy, nothing too overwhelming on the palate.

Jalapeño & Goat Cheese Beyond Burgers With Corn On The Cob – 25 minutes, 710 calories

Jalapeño burger with yummy sweet corn is truly a dish to beat! Ppairing a “meaty” burger with corn on the cob was really fantastic. It’s a classic combination with creamy, tangy, and sweet layers of flavors. All that’s missing is a glass of red wine!

We were really excited to try the Beyond Burgers. To be honest – we could tell it was vegetarian, but it was really satisfying, and not dry at all. One of the best veggie burgers of my life!

Seared Steaks & Aioli With Crispy Gnocchi & Sautéed Green Beans – 45 minutes, 750 calories

Last, but definitely not the least, is the seared steak! Who could resist that meaty and juicy medium-rare goodness? It’s perfectly seasoned and even topped with aioli, a combination of mayonnaise and punchy garlic paste. The gnocchi made a nice alternative to the usual potato sides. Of course, there’s also green peas and shallots to add more texture and variety to our platter. It’s a wonderful meal overall, definitely deserving of a second take!

Blue Apron meal box is awesome as always! They have been consistent in sending out easy-to-cook meals and fresh recipes, so they really help us save time and even money compared to cooking up our dinners from scratch.  We absolutely loved the option to choose a Beyond Burgers meal with no upcharge, too. Each box contains most of the ingredients, and they even throw in a bulb of garlic that is usually more than what we need for the recipes. Their well-detailed recipe sheets are quite commendable as well. All you just need to do is follow the instruction carefully, cook, eat, and enjoy! My family is impressed overall, and as for me, I’m really excited to whip up more recipes from this subscription!
