Of course, there’s a list of the items we should be expecting in this month’s box.

This part of the magazine features Chocolate Mint Pocky and DIY Kit Melon Jelly Drink!

Discover Japan page shares a bit of Japan’s local culture every month. This month, they’re teaching us how to say the months in Japanese!

There’s also a page with a QR code that you can use to activate your streak and get rewards!

They even included a feature about Pocky and the flavor of summer, which is mint!

Everything inside the box!

Furuta Gudetama Custard Chocolates. Gudetama is the most adorable!!! We’re excited about this snack because of him and also because of the custard filling inside the luscious chocolate. They didn’t disappoint us because the wrapper is really cute and the treat really melts in the mouth. It was rich, creamy, and sweet, basically everything we can ask for in a chocolate candy!

Kirin Watermelon Soda. The color of this drink reminds me of a rosé but it’s actually a soda infused with a juicy watermelon flavor. It’s quite refreshing, especially when chilled!

Yuzu Salt Lemon Potato Chips. We received the same chips last year! These crunchy chips boast a refreshing citrusy flavor from yuzu and lemon. The taste is quite unique but delicious, it’s so easy to eat the whole bag in one seating.

Furuta Detective Conan Chocolate Bar. Detective Conan is one of the most popular mystery and thriller manga series in Japan. The main character, Conan, and his friend, Ran are featured on the wrapper of this chocolate bar. They’re so cute! Well, even if you’re not a fan, you still won’t be able to resist this treat because it contains crunchy wafers wrapped in smooth chocolate! It comes in a handy size perfect as an on-the-go treat.

Fried Potato Chips. This bag of potato chips is every potato chips lover come true. There’s nothing in there but pure potato goodness and a dash of spices like spicy garlic and ginger. It’s a great snack to munch on while watching TV or your favorite anime series!

Chocolate Mint Pocky. As mentioned in the booklet, mint is summer’s most popular flavor in Japan! We’ve always loved mint chocolate chip ice cream, and the flavors of this version of Pocky is quite similar. The cookie sticks are thick and really chocolatey, while the creamy coating is just refreshing. There are several packs inside the box, which makes it perfect for sharing.

Kabaya Watermelon Gummies. The watermelon gummies are chewy and fruity, also coated with sour sugar. They captured the juicy and refreshing taste of watermelon so well. Each piece was just the right mix of sweet and tart.

Mint Taiyaki. This fish-shaped wafer snack boasts of a minty chocolate flavor. It’s similar to Taiyaki, a Japanese bread with a delicious filling.

Yaokin Melon Bread Biscuits. Melon bread or melon pan is a popular sweet treat in Japan. We’ve had these cookies before and we can’t get enough of them because they’re soft, sweet, and definitely filling. They’re a perfect partner for tea, coffee, and other hot beverages.

Wasabi Nori. Wasabi Nori is exactly what its name says, wasabi plus nori (seaweed) in one snack. Each bite is oozing of savory and spicy flavors. It goes perfect with beer!

Petit Kabuki Rice Crackers. Crunchy and savory, these rice crackers make such a filling snack for any time of the day. Each piece is flavorful and I just love the satisfying crunching sound when I munch on them!

Yaokin Soba. Rice puffs and little noodle pieces are mixed in this delicious snack! Its savory flavors are inspired by the real soba-meshi yakisoba, usually found on night time food stalls and summer festivals. You can munch on these straight out of the bag or use them as noodle toppings!

Melon Jelly DIY. For this month’s DIY candy kit, we’re making jelly candy! The kit includes a small plastic cup, two straws, and melon-flavored jelly powder. First step is to mix the powder with water in the plastic cup, then use the straw to mix them. You can drink the mixture right away, but you can also put it in the freezer for a cold jelly snack!

Cheese Chips. This one is for the cheese lovers! It’s a puffed snack packed with a cheesy flavor in every bite. They’re also light and satisfyingly crunchy!

Coris Soda Soft Candy. We got another pack of candy, and this time, they’re soda-flavored. The flavor tingles the tastebuds, and they’re also soft and chewy!

Natto Umaibo. Umaibo is another popular Japanese snack and a staple in Tokyo Treat boxes! This month’s version boasts of the flavors of natto, a traditional Japanese soybean dish.

This month, we got a mystery snack item!

Our mystery snack item is Ginbis Matcha Chocolate Corn Puffs! We received the same snack in the May 2019 Tokyo Treat box and we loved it. The combination of chocolate and matcha flavors in corn puffs is the best. Each piece is light, airy, and star-shaped. If you’re a big fan of matcha, you’ll probably love this snack too!

Once again, we got to taste the flavors of summer through Tokyo Treat! It includes a bunch of refreshing and fruity treats, as well as savory snacks to accompany us through binge-watching sessions. The mystery item got us really excited and as it turned out, it’s a snack we’ve received in the past and really loved! This subscription never disappoints with their jampacked boxes. We can’t wait for next month!
