Menlo Club, formerly Five Four Club, is a men’s clothing monthly subscription club – sign up, pick a style profile and your sizes, and get clothes every month. The subscription is a $60 flat monthly fee, and traditionally subscribers receive a variable number of items each month, depending on the value of the month’s selections (months with several items usually include a tee-shirt or other lower value item). It looks that all the items here are packed neatly to prevent scratching and damage. This month is a New Republic month, which means some new footwear! The Menlo Club product rotation is discussed more below.

A calendar of Menlo Club’s offerings per month. This schedule provides a balanced wardrobe replenishment through the course of the year. The Menlo Club subscriptions will include Five Four clothing, shoes from the New Republic footwear line made in collaboration with Mark McNairy, and the Grand AC athletic and leisure wear line. Five Four Socks. It’s a pair of combed cotton socks. It reminds me of Charlie Brown’s shirt except that it is in gray and black.
These socks can be washed in the washing machine in a warm setting. The tag explains all the dos and don’ts when it comes to washing it.
The pair is made brighter by the yellow cuffs, heels, and toes. The black and gray chevron print are awesome too!
It’s a great idea that they added this burst of yellow. It certainly stands out! They’ll go well with my new shoes, too!
New Republic Sneakers. Menlo Club wasn’t kidding when they said that I got a cool pair of sneakers in this month’s box. I like the jet black color of these casual shoes!
The outside is dark black with a pleasant sheen to it. The contrasting white sets it off nicely!
I can pair it with jeans or even black pants and it’ll look great.
The inner lining of this pair is in suede for added comfort.
The outsoles are thick, but not too heavy. It’s neatly designed and promise plenty of traction too. This is one stylish pair of shoes! I love the classic lines and simple design, as well as the color. They are like a hybrid between and sneaker and a dress flat. These would obviously work with casual wear, but I think you could pair them with a suit and they would look hip and not tacky, because they have a classic dressy look to them, even with the pronounced white soles.
I got another pair of awesome shoes from Menlo Club and I’m not complaining. It’s a classic choice that deserves to be in any man’s wardrobe. It’s easy to pair with various outfits, plus it’s comfortable to wear too even when I walk around and do errands all day. The shoes even came with a pair of awesome socks and I couldn’t be happier!
