lookfantastic Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription from the UK. This box is currently $22 per month, but goes down to $16.50 per month on an annual plan and ships free to the US and Canada! In every box, you’ll get a hand-picked selection of must-have beauty fixes, which are wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. It will always include a minimum of six products and the latest issue of Elle UK!

First peek!

There is a magazine by Look Fantastic in each box – this includes the product information, makeup tutorials, style highlights, and other features. I really like the way the mag is laid out, often there are interviews, beauty tutorials, and spotlights on the products and brands included in the month’s box. They’ve reformatted the mag since last year, and it now has more details about the items included with tips and directions on how to use.

A copy of Elle UK is also included each month!

Eve Lom Cleanser ($24) – I’ve tried this cleanser before, possibly even in a previous LF box. (Yep, it was their last birthday box!) Eve Lom’s cleansing balm is famous for its list of dreamy, beneficial ingredients including clove, eucalyptus, hops, and cocoa butter. Unfortunately, I find the clove scent too strong and unpleasant and didn’t give this cleanser more than one chance the last time, so this will be passed on to a friend. But as a cleansing balm, it’s quite effective, and you get a muslin cloth to help remove it. Eve Lom is not cruelty-free as their products are now sold in mainland China, which is upsetting as they previously were against animal testing.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme Pre Shampoo Treatment ($15.50) – And another product we have received before, in the December 2016 box. This is a pre-shampoo treatment you can leave in for bouncier, softer, more manageable hair. Philip Kingsley is cruelty-free, which is awesome.

Mane ‘n Tail Hoofmaker ($3) – I’m not sure why Lookfantastic loves this brand so much (they sent us the shampoo/conditioner in a previous box) since in North America it’s a drugstore product… but I digress. Like the rest of the Mane n’ Tail line, this product was originally made for horses to keep their hooves strong and shiny! Mane n’ Tail is cruelty-free, which makes me feel good about sliding this bottle into my purse for the winter months!

Violet Sweets – As a sweet treat for their birthday, we got a package of candied violet pastilles. These are super floral tasting and I only had a few, but they were an interesting treat to try!

Lord and Berry Strobing Pencil – A highlighter pencil from Lord and Berry, an Italian brand. This will be nice for the waterline to add some highlight. Lord and Berry is cruelty-free, too, which is fantastic. Animal testing is banned in the EU now (and Canada just followed suit) so I’m glad that I can enjoy many of the products featured in LF!

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Oil ($13.50) – A blend of neroli, grapefruit, juniper, and rosemary. Rub on your chest before a shower, or pour into a bath. I haven’t heard of this brand before, and did some looking into whether they’re cruelty-free or not; they say they directly don’t test on animals but allow others to do so for their own regulatory purposes, meaning they are not entirely cruelty-free. This smells heavenly, though!

Omorivicza Moor Mud Mask ($12.50) – There was actually a variation for the first time with LF’s birthday box, and a couple of other Omorovicza items were the variation. I’m happy I got the moor mud mask! The ingredients sound fantastic and are all new to me:

  • Essential Oils of Sage, Chamomile, Rosemary, Rose Geranium and Camphor: Provide a cooling and soothing effect.
  • Marine Exopolysaccharides: Create the appearance of plumper skin and diminish the look of fine lines.
  • Hungarian Moor Mud: Purifies and detoxifies while providing essential minerals calcium, magnesium carbonates, humic acid, and fulvic acid.
  • Hectorite Clay: Draws out impurities and hydrates the skin.
  • A Complex of Oligopeptides and Amino Acids: Gently resurface the skin, eliminating dead cells for a brighter, smoother-looking and more even-toned complexion.
  • Omorovicza’s patented Hydro Mineral Transference™ Delivery System: Leaves skin looking firmer and more supple

It has an herbal, minty smell which isn’t unpleasant at all. I am saving this for a spa night! Omorovicza is once again cruelty-free; they lost their status when they moved into the Chinese market, but have pulled all products due to the public pushing for them to do so. I love their products and am excited to try this one!

Aside from the duplicate items, this was a very fun box to open and go through. LF featured some of their favourite brands and products and I was happy to see some of mine as well!
