Valentine, Texas by Lori Wilde ($7.99) – This sounds like it would make a great Hallmark movie! A town divided by Romance. You just know there are going to by some hijinxs and hook-ups bound to happen with that mix.

ADDICTED TO LOVE

Growing up in Valentine, Texas, can make anyone believe in happily ever after. But recovering romantic Rachael Henderson has decided that love stinks. And after having two grooms ditch her at the altar, she commits an uncharacteristic act of rebellion that leaves her feeling liberated-until she’s arrested by Sheriff Brody Carlton.

Once upon a time, being hauled against the strong body of her first cowboy crush would have had Rachael planning the wedding of the year. Now it spurs her to create Romanceaholics Anonymous, and soon all of Valentine is divided as diehard romantics clash with anti-love cynics.

With the town up in arms, the biggest cynic of them all-the sinfully sexy sheriff-can’t stop fantasizing about this beautiful woman who’s nothing but delicious trouble. Can he convince Rachael that it just may be possible to have her wedding cake and eat it too?

Set the Night on Fire: A CottonBloom Novel by Laura Trentham ($7.99) – I’m not sure I’m ready for a romance that is set in a car garage but I can dig it. I used to watch the show One Tree Hill and it started with one of the brothers working in his uncles garage. They wore the sweatshirt throughout the series and it always brings happy memories. I’m imagining a lot of greasy fun in this one.

Ella Boudreaux has a lot to prove to her family, friends, and foes―and to herself. So when her marriage ends she decides to invest her energy and money into a place that brings back some of Ella’s happiest memories: the Abbott brothers’ garage. Maybe, if she puts her mind to it, she can teach skeptical, stubborn Mack Abbott how to make the business a true success. Which would be a lot easier if the hunky mechanic didn’t make her motor run quite so fast…and hot.

Mack was furious when his brother, Ford, sold his share of the business. He’s in no rush to team up with a wealthy divorcée who shows up to the garage in stilettos―and the longest, sexiest legs he’s seen in forever. But Ella’s grit and determination won’t quit…and soon Mack can see that she’s been down a few rough roads herself. Neither Mack nor Ella can deny the fierce attraction that’s revving up between them. Could it be that true love has been in the backseat all along…and they’ve finally found the key?

Ain’t She a Peach: A Southern Eclectic Novel by Molly Harper ($13.47) – So above we have a garage and here we have a funeral home. Well, it does some southern eclectic and I’m pretty sure this is as eclectic as I can get. Even though I wasn’t born in the South I’ve been down here about 3/4 of my life so I’m a southern girl through and through now. This sounds like such a likely thing to happen I’m not even questioning it and I can’t wait to dive in and see how they make out.

An Atlanta ex-cop comes to sleepy Lake Sackett, Georgia, seeking peace and quiet—but he hasn’t bargained on falling for Frankie, the cutest coroner he’s ever met.

Frankie McCready talks to dead people. Not like a ghost whisperer or anything—but it seems rude to embalm them and not at least say hello.

Fortunately, at the McCready Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop, Frankie’s eccentricities fit right in. Lake Sackett’s embalmer and county coroner, Frankie’s goth styling and passion for nerd culture mean she’s not your typical Southern girl, but the McCreadys are hardly your typical Southern family. Led by Great-Aunt Tootie, the gambling, boozing, dog-collecting matriarch of the family, everyone looks out for one another—which usually means getting up in everyone else’s business.

Maybe that’s why Frankie is so fascinated by new sheriff Eric Linden…a recent transplant from Atlanta, he sees a homicide in every hunting accident or boat crash, which seems a little paranoid for this sleepy tourist town. What’s he so worried about? And what kind of cop can get a job with the Atlanta PD but can’t stand to look at a dead body?

Frankie has other questions that need answering first—namely, who’s behind the recent break-in attempts at the funeral home, and how can she stop them? This one really does seem like a job for the sheriff—and as Frankie and Eric do their best Scooby-Doo impressions to catch their man, they get closer to spilling some secrets they thought were buried forever.

Breathless: A Novel by Celeste Bradley and Susan Donovan ($14.29) – I’m a sucker for a good period romance and this mixes a bit of the old with a bit of the new. Being someone’s muse and siren always sounds so provocative and so very dangerous. I’m sure there is a huge backstory to go along with all of it and I can’t wait to read all about it.

In Breathless, bestselling authors Celeste Bradley and Susan Donovan will sweep you away―across continents and centuries, combining the best of all worlds in one unforgettable romantic saga.

She was “the Swan.” London’s premiere courtesan. Men want to be with her. Women loathe her success and yet admire her beauty, her riches, her independence. But when the jealous wife of her lover moves to have the Swan banished from her home on the high seas, she winds up crashed against Spain’s rocky coast with no shoes, no clothes―and no name. Taken in by a tortured, sensuous man known as The Artist, the Swan comes to know the woman she wants to be―her artist’s siren.

When Art Professor Brenna Anderson is in danger of losing her post at Harvard, the rule-following, prim professor is at a loss of how to salvage the shreds of her life. But when a new painting in the mysterious Siren collection is discovered in a dusty old house in France, Brenna does the unthinkable―hops on a plane to uncover the identity of the beautiful, enigmatic woman who is the subject of the paintings.

There’s just one hitch―the frustrating, irritating, bold and beautiful art hunter Fitch Wilder is also looking for the Siren. He’s been a thorn in Brenna’s professional side for years, but when their individual quests lead them to team up despite being enemies, a whole new sumptuous world of art and culture opens up for the two of them. And with it, they enter a realm of passion and love…

Maybe For You by Nicole McLaughlin ($7.99) – Fresh Fiction sent the second book in this series back in the February 2018  box. It was a fun and easy read and I’m excited to find out what happens this time. Whiskey and Weddings is always a must go to in my book.

She’s never had a no-strings fling. He’s never had anything else. But maybe this time will be an exception?

After a year of mourning her fiancé, Alexis Parker has worked hard to rediscover what she wants out of life. Fresh out of the military and back stateside, her brother offers her a marketing job at the Stag Distillery. Ready for a new challenge, Alexis agrees to accompany her new co-worker Jake Cooper on a Stag cross-country promotional tour. He may have an infamous playboy reputation, but Alexis is surprised to find out that there is more to him than meets the eye. And she likes what she sees. . .

Jake promised Alexis’s brother that he’d be an absolute gentleman. Of course, that was before he and Alexis hit the road, and they both agree that what Alexis’s big brother doesn’t know won’t hurt him. The plan: to keep their fling confined to the RV, and everything will go back to normal once they head home. Things progress in ways neither of them could have imagined, and Jake realizes that he and Alexis make a perfect mix. Can he convince her that he’s ready to shake things up and give true love a shot in Maybe for You?

We got two codes for Free e-books this month: Saving the Sheriff by Kadie Scott and Royal Mess by Jenna Sutton.

This month we Tazo Vanilla Bean Macaron to drink along while eading.

Fresh Fiction Box Not To Miss sent a box full of books perfect for me. I don’t mind some heavier reading but mostly I want to just sit back and read and enjoy without having to think too hard. Romance books are perfect for that and this month Fresh Fiction sent 5 books that will keep me entertained for many nights to come.  I’m heading out on a bit of a vacation and a couple of these will be in my go bag to be read by the pool in the sun. The perfect spot for summer reading.

What did you think of this month’s book selection?

Love Lori Wilde! Her books about Twilight, Texas are actually based on the tiny town I live in. Granbury, Texas. We even have a Twilight weekend here in December in her honor. Love to see her in these boxes!
