Everything in my February 2018 box! I received 5 paperbacks and codes for 1 e-book Fresh Fiction sends different box variations each month so keep in mind that your box may vary from mine!

There was a card introducing the featured book for the month.

Each month, FFBNTM will feature an author or publisher and this month it’s Never Dare a Wicker Earl by Renee Ann Miller. Each subscriber will receive this book in their box.

Never Dare a Wicked Earl by Renee Ann Miller ($3.74) is the featured book this month. It sounds like a great battle of the wills. I can’t wait to see who wins in the end!

They are the infamous lords, unrepentant rogues whose bad behavior makes for good gossip among the ton. But these sexy scoundrels have stories no one knows. And it takes a special touch to reveal the true hearts behind their devilish disguises . . .

Known as a brazen philanderer, Hayden Milton, Earl of Westfield, is almost done in by a vengeful mistress who aims a gun at a rather essential part of his anatomy—but ends up wounding his thigh instead. Recuperating in his London townhouse, Hayden is confronted by his new medical attendant. Sophia Camden intrigues him, for behind her starched uniform is an enticing beauty better suited for bedding than dispensing salves and changing bandages.

Unshaken by his arrogance, not to mention impropriety, Sophia offers Hayden a dare: allow her ten days to prove her competency. If she resigns in exasperation like her two predecessors, she will be beholden to this wicked seducer. As a battle of wills begins, Sophia finds herself distracted by the earl’s muscular physique . . . and discovers that the man within longs only for a second chance to love.

Maybe This Time: A Whiskey and Weddings Novel by Nicole McLaughlin ($7.99) – So exciting this is an Advance Reading Copy and is not released in this format until February 27! This is a contemporary romance and the second in the Whiskey and Weddings series.  Really anything that has Whiskey and Weddings in it has my interest piqued for sure.

Jen Mackenzie has been knocked down more than a few times, but she always gets up and makes sure she has the last word. It’s the reason she now considers herself equal parts self-sufficient and free-spirit. But since losing her job and trying to help her mother beat cancer, real life―and her occasional careless choices―have begun to catch up with her. Her one saving grace: The Stag, a boutique distillery that has become Kansas City’s go-to wedding venue. The only catch: One of the owners, TJ Laughlin, happens to be the one man who somehow manages to make Jen feel inadequate.

TJ has secretly had a thing for Jen since high school. Now, as her new boss, it’s a daily struggle between revealing his feelings and wringing her beautiful neck. Only one thing is for certain: he can’t stand idly by and watch the woman he cares for struggle. She may be convinced that accepting TJ’s help is a weakness. But all he sees in Jen is beauty and strength, inside and out. As things finally heat up between them, can TJ find a way to convince Jen that love is about give and take―and having it all, together?

Beautiful Tempest by Johanna Lindsey ($5.98) – When first reading I thought this was a bookish version of the movie Taken and then they threw in a pirate and now I’m invisioning Jack Sparrow getting with Elizabeth Swan. That is a book I would read and this one is too.

For the first time, James Malory and his in-laws agree on something: it’s payback time for the culprit who kidnapped James and Georgina’s beloved daughter Jack from her debutante party and whisked her away to the Caribbean. James has finally figured out who masterminded the dastardly plot and is leading a fleet of ships to the West Indies to deliver some Malory-style retribution.

More interested in revenge than in finding a husband, Jack is furious that her father left her behind. So she decides to track down her abductor herself, but as Jack re-engages in a battle of wills with him, she realizes that he is no ordinary pirate. In fact, he may not a pirate at all, but a nobleman determined to settle a score that dates back to the days when her father was known as Captain Hawk—and what endangers her most is the increasingly passionate attraction they feel for each other.

Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason ($10.99) – I like police and procedural shows but I’ve never really read books with them. I’m going to give this one a shot and I’m betting I get sucked right into their world.

Police officer Isabelle St. John loves her crazy, loud, law-enforcement family. With three brothers and two sisters, she’s never without someone to hang out with–or fight with. And she knows they’ll be there for her when things get tough. Like when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes with her own life.

Determined to discover exactly what happened, Izzy’s investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll–including someone from her own family. With her dead partner’s handsome homicide detective brother Ryan shadowing her every move, Izzy’s head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she’s had a secret crush on for years won’t leave her side?

The Lacemaker by Laura Frantz ($12.89) – I was just talking about going to Williamsburg. I find that era so interesting and seeing how people lived at that time fascinating. I can’t wait to read the story about Liberty.

When colonial Williamsburg explodes like a powder keg on the eve of the American Revolution, Lady Elisabeth “Liberty” Lawson is abandoned by her fiancé and suspected of being a spy for the hated British. No one comes to her aid save the Patriot Noble Rynallt, a man with formidable enemies of his own. Liberty is left with a terrible choice. Will the Virginia belle turned lacemaker side with the radical revolutionaries, or stay true to her English roots? And at what cost?

I also got a code for the e-book No Hero:Louisiana Lawman by Mallory Kane ($3.99).

What a great box from Fresh Fiction. These are all new books to me and one is still in pre-order which I love. I love being on the cutting edge of newness and advance copies are extra exciting.  I would not have found all of these books on my own when out looking and I love finding new authors and series to get engrossed in. If I had found all of these it would have been over $45 to order on Amazon so the book saves me money and spreads out my little circle.  I’m all set for the next little bit of cold winter nights when I’m curling up next to the fire just reading away!
