Butternut Squash + Chimichurri Harvest Bowl. Chimichurri is usually served with steak, but in this blend, it’s paired with butternut squash, shiitake mushrooms, and buckwheat. It’s hearty and packed with lots of fiber, which is great if you’re watching your blood sugar levels.

Ingredients
buckwheat, organic butternut squash, shiitake mushrooms, crimini mushrooms, organic spinach, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic cilantro, garlic, organic parsley, shallot, himalayan pink sea salt, organic lemon juice, organic cumin

The combination of this warm and hearty bowl of herb-tossed grains paired with a delicious sauce leaves you feeling fuller and energized longer! Unlike many of their other meals, these are serving sized for one person – and they’re incredibly filling.

Brussels Sprouts + Tahini Harvest Bowl. Roasted vegetables in a bowl! This one is fiber-packed, and also great for workout recovery and immunity boosting. The tahini and turmeric give it a Middle Eastern flavor!

This mix actually looked great when transferred to a bowl!

The butternut squash goes well with the Brussel sprouts and leeks, and the addition of lentils makes it healthier as it is a good source of iron and protein – no meat necessary!

Red Lentil + Kitchari Harvest Bowl. Inspired by curried lentil stew, this bowl is spiced with ginger, garlic, cilantro, and turmeric. It also has coconut that makes it so hearty and creamy. Since we ordered this they renamed it cumin instead of kitchari, which is just the curry spice blend!

Ingredients
red lentils, cauliflower, carrots, organic coconut milk (organic coconut, water), organic spinach, onion, organic cilantro, ginger, garlic, himalayan pink sea salt, kitchari spice mix (organic brown mustard seed, organic turmeric, mineral salt, organic cumin seed, organic ginger, asafoetida, fenugreek), organic apple cider vinegar diluted with water to 5% acidity, organic peppercorns

Instead of Basmati rice, cauliflower is used which makes it grain-free and rich in protein as well.

Quinoa + Chipotle Harvest Bowl. Quinoa and chipotle? This is one healthy meal that sits nicely in the stomach for hours. This is a great combination as I love the two separately. Who doesn’t love eating organic? It’s not just quinoa that is the highlight of the dish because the appearance of zucchini, kale, bell peppers, and cilantro, just to name a few, mean one thing and it is that this cup is loaded with vitamins and minerals that are good for our body and our overall health.

Ingredients
white, red and black quinoa, organic zucchini squash, organic tomato (tomato, calcium chloride), organic kale, purple corn, onion, organic green bell peppers, organic tomato paste (organic tomato paste, citric acid), organic mesquite flour, garlic, organic cacao beans, himalayan pink sea salt, green onions, organic cilantro, organic chipotle chiles, organic cumin, organic peppercorns, cinnamon

I just can’t wait until I’m done heating this bowl! This is how the meals look – they are packed in the bowls in layers, frozen, and shipped to you.

This is what it looks like heated.

Beware, you still need to mix these up. Since their site doesn’t show the meals as they should be eaten, only deconstructed, you might miss it. Stir stir stir! It was spicy, delicious, and filling.

Cauliflower Rice + Pesto. Cauliflower rice is fast becoming a favorite in many health and wellness circles. Add pesto into the mix and you’re going to get a flavorful meal that is packed with nutrients. This is a low-carb meal, perfect for fans of Italian cuisine.

Ingredients
cauliflower, organic spinach, organic basil, organic extra virgin olive oil, garlic, organic cashew butter, organic sun dried tomatoes (organic sun dried tomatoes, salt), organic lemon juice, himalayan pink sea salt, nutritional yeast (dried yeast, niacin, riboflavin, thiamin hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, cobalamin (b12 produced by natural fermentation – not synthetic or animal source), organic peppercorns

When you remove the contents of the cup, you will find that they are all layered together. They may look unappetizing as of now, but wait until you cook it over your stovetop or heat it up in your microwave.

Cauliflower and pesto never looked this yummy and easy to prepare. This is great for those busy days when you just need a little help with your meals.

You can see real ingredients are used in this mix plus you get to taste every flavor of them too. Now that’s delicious! This one was really heavily spiced.

Cauliflower Rice + Kimchi Harvest Bowl. This time, cauliflower rice is paired with kimchi, a staple in Korean cuisine which helps keep your weight down by cleansing your digestive system. This bowl is like the healthy version of kimchi fried rice and you can even top it with tofu or if you like, but that would really turn this into a two person meal.

Ingredients
cauliflower, organic kimchi (organic napa cabbage, organic carrot, organic scallion, sea salt, organic garlic, organic ginger, organic cayenne pepper, organic chili pepper), organic carrots, organic kale, water, organic tomato paste (organic tomato paste, citric acid), organic tamari (water, organic soybeans, salt, organic alcohol [to preserve freshness]), green onions, organic toasted sesame oil, ginger, garlic, organic sesame seeds, gochugaru dried chiles, organic dulse powder

Nutrition Facts

Of course, after heating, they look more mouthwatering! Cauliflower is a good alternative to rice and other grains, and pairing it with kimchi is just marvelous, a little kick added to a healthy selection is a true winner!

Daily Harvest Bowls is a subscription that I don’t regret getting because I get to taste new flavor combos, they’re amazingly healthy, and (for someone who doesn’t stick to a plant based diet) ridiculously delicious and filling. I find myself busy for weeks on end and since I don’t have much time to prepare anything, I prefer to have a healthy pre-made meal waiting for me. There are 3 flavors that I haven’t had a chance to try yet and I’ll be digging into those soon. If you’re already on a plant-based diet, this is a quick, easy fix to your next meal. If you’re not, I would highly recommend trying these as a way to increase the diversity of your plant-based options.

This is a pricier option, but one of the things I really noticed is that the chop on every single piece is designed to ensure your meal is cooked perfectly. This isn’t cheap! Overall I’ve been impressed with this subscription’s offerings and if you’re willing to stomach the price of the meals, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
