Handmade Hive’s January 2017 Subscription Box’s theme was Pamper Me!

Items included an array of bath and body products, cookies, tea and a gorgeous calendar and stand.

All included items come listed on an enclosed note card.

This business card was included along with the enclosed “Free-Bee,” a tube of Handmade Hive’s Honey Lip Balm.

Purely Posh Soap Company Vanilla Coconut Bath Soak along with the Bergamot Grapefruit Whipped Sugar Scrub were produced exclusively for Handmade Hive. Together, they have a retail value of $22. The bath soak contains epsom salt, dead sea salt, baking soda, sleepytime vanilla tea, rose water, coconut extract. and sweet almond oil.

As great as it looked, it felt even better in the bathtub. As I reclined in the tub, I could feel my skin softening and my muscles relaxing as I relished every moment of quiet time with this soak in the tub.

Purely Posh Soap Company’s Bergamot Grapefruit Whipped Sugar Scrub ($22 when combined with the bath soak) was perfectly moist!

As if my skin already didn’t feel great after soaking in the bath soak, this scrub put it over the top. I can’t stop touching my arms. They feel so healthy and hydrated!

Ava and Snow’s Hand Salve ($7) is a handcrafted blend of olive oil, beeswax, coconut oil and shea butter.

It provided a welcome relief to my stressed, red hands after washing the dishes.

Handmade Hive’s Honey Lip Balm ($3.00) is sweet and smooth and left my lips feeling delightfully plump and soft. Made with natural, local, raw honey and organic cocoa seed butter, castor seed oil and beeswax, this product is naturally SPF and petroleum-free.

I was so excited to receive these tea samples ($4) from Plum Deluxe! I’ve reviewed their herbal tea subscription in the past and have loved all of their blends!

Plum Deluxe’s Self Care Blend Herbal Tea is a delicious organic blend of honeybush tea, elderberries, apricots, apples, and calendula.

Its mellow honeybush base provides a nice backdrop for the sweetness of the apples and apricots coupled with the subtle tartness of the elderberries. Although I loved it as a hot tea, it would also make for a lovely iced tea.

Plum Deluxe Relaxing Spa Blend Herbal Tea is a lovely blend of lemon verbena, lavender, lemon balm, lemon peel and lemongrass.

It has light citrus notes which I found very relaxing.

Plum Deluxe Inner Calm Green Tea looks and smells fantastic. It’s a combination of green tea, lemon verbena, lemon peel and grape essence. Unfortunately, though, I can’t drink caffeine, so I”ll have to pass this along to a lucky friend.

Bread Box & Bakery’s Chocolate Chip Cookies ($4) are quite good. They have a somewhat unique flavor to them (cloves?) that made them especially interesting.

Handmade Hive’s Rosemary Peppermint Soap ($5) was produced for Handmade Hive by A Natural Alternative. This soap is produced from a combination of palm oil, coconut oil, soy oil and milk. Its invigorating scent woke me up after a long, tiring day.

Favorite Story’S 2017 12-Month Desk Calendar ($18) is printed on cardstock and features gorgeous illustrations of wildflowers, laurels, and leaves.

It arrives along with a wooden stand so that you can display your calendar one month at a time. It’s taking pride of place atop my desk for the rest of the year. I love it!

I couldn’t have been more pleased with my first box from Handmade Hive. Each of the products made me feel special. I enjoyed sitting back, relaxing and indulging in all of the products that I received. I can’t wait to see what they send out next month!

Are you as excited as I am by this month’s selections from Handmade Hive? Will you be subscribing for yourself or someone else?

Handmade Hive

A Handmade Hive subscription box is a unique monthly lifestyle box that curates a variety of locally-sourced handmade items from small businesses around the country. Each month, the contents of the box will be a surprise to you, but they will center on a specific theme and contain a piece for YOUR HOME, YOURSELF, YOUR WARDROBE or YOUR STYLE. The primary emphasis of what you'll find from month-to-month will be items in art, personal-care products, stationery, home goods, edible treats and so much more. Our goal is to help you experience deeper connections with the small-business community of artists, designers and makers while also making a difference in the world around us. We do that by donating a portion of every box sold to organizations that help in the fight against human sex trafficking.

$10 for your first box that usually costs $50+? That has got to be one of the best deals I have ever heard of!! Unfathomably amazing. I want everything but the desk calendar.
