Though the contents are for your pooch, they still make an effort to make it presentable and enjoyable for you to open, too! We were greeted by a Holiday card that doubled as an announcement of this month’s theme: HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

The flip side had a nice thank you note showing appreciation for Pooch Perks customers over the twenty months of its existence as a box. It didn’t contain any specifics on the items in this month’s box, other than stating that the toys are high quality and the treats are all natural.

Everything in the box.

Pet House Candle Apple Cider Mini Candle ($2.99): This candle is intended specifically for masking the odors that comes with having a pet in your home. Ours came in a festive apple cider scent.

Exclusively Dog Cookies Vanilla Flavor Wafer Cookies Dog Treats ($4.53): The dog version of Nilla wafers, these crunchy, wheat flour-based cookies have natural vanilla flavoring. A bit of garlic makes it clear that these aren’t anything you want to trifle with, though.

Cloud Star Gingerbread Flavor Soft & Chewy Treats for Dogs ($5.95):  These are a great size for training or frequent treating. Each one is shaped like a tiny gingerbread man. They are made of wheat and rice flour with tapioca, gelatin, and glycerin as binding agents.

My Doggy Gingerbread  Soft-Baked Cookies ($6.99): My dog’s favorite of the bunch, these big paw-printed rounds are bendy and chewy, with gingerbread spices mixed in. I love the ingredients for these cookies, as they are just rye flour, oil, eggs, molasses, pumpkin (yay!) and baking spices.

MultiPet Squeaky Snowman: He’s made of a hard, but flexible silicon type material and has a loud squeaker. The loudest. This is a lot of fun for kid/dog interaction.

Fabdogs Reindeer Faball ($10): Inside the goofy exterior is tough, spiked chew ball that bounces and squeaks, making it a perfect toy for a mild game of fetch.

Zippy Paws Hedgehog Squeaky Plush Dog Toy ($5.99): A cute little hedgehog with a Santa hat. Great for gentle chewers and ratters. Inside is a squeaker.

Foufou Dog Cozy Corduroy Holiday Plush Bear Toy ($7.99): I’m tempted to steal this one and give it to one of the kids – he’s almost too cute to let him get all slobbered on! Made with a thick white corduroy material, this little bear has a Burgundy scarf and internal squeaker.

He even had an adorable little tail!

The tag has a QR code you can scan (or you can go to their site) to register your dog for a free birthday gift!

A promo card was included for BabelBark, an app for tracking your dog’s health and fitness.

We like the selection of toys and treats we’ve been getting with Pooh Perks. You can specify what size dog you have — ours is relatively small, so our toys have been adorable instead of ultra-tough. Our dog loves the snacks! They are all natural and made in the U.S.A. – they are not tiny-shop gourmet treats made solely of home pantry ingredients, but they do have a pleasantly short and simple ingredients list. It’s a great box for giving your dog a monthly surprise!
