Choix is French for choice, and this service strives to give you that. So Choix was created on the following philosophy:
That’s why we let you choose the beauty samples you want to try! We let you try on enough sample of the product to determine whether or not that product lives up to a standard you are happy with, because we believe you need to be able to touch and try makeup and beauty products (on your face!) to love it…
We want to give you an easy, risk-free, and hassle free way of shopping for beauty…we want to help you make thoughtful decisions about your beauty look, your beauty routine, and help you discover who you are, without pressure! This is beauty on your terms.
Products and tools are packed in separate containers.
Each product is secured in the box to keep it from rattling around during shipment. The lid contains a list of the items sent.
The smaller container had tools for me to use when applying my samples – 2 lip gloss brushes and a cotton swab.
Benefit “Boiing” Concealer – Medium Light: I don’t normally use a concealer, but lately I’ve had some serious raccoon eyes going on. This is a light cream formula that applied easily. It was a little hard to get out of the container, and the brush application didn’t pull as much product as I would have liked.
Tom Ford Eye Defining Pencil – Bruise: This is a creamy eyeliner that glides on smoothly. The plum color was different but worked well with my purple shadows. However, I will have to look for a similar shade in a different brand. I cannot justify $36 for an eyeliner.
Givenchy Lip Liner – Lip Nude: I liked this shade – it was just slightly lighter than my natural lip. However, the liner had a drier formula and was a little difficult to apply. I’m on the fence with this liner.
Tom Ford Nail Lacquer – Sugar Dune: Sorry, I didn’t include a picture of this on my nails. While I liked the nude shade (realized I have an OPI that is similar), I did not like the formula. This had a sheer and streaky application. You need more than 2 or 3 coats for complete opacity. In my opinion, this is not worth the $35 price point. I’ll stick with my $8 polish.
Ralph Lauren Tender Romance Eau de Parfum: This has notes of fresh ginger, white magnolia, and soft cashmere. I liked the soft scent and thought it was a good everyday/work fragrance.
I took apart the atomizer to show you how much perfume comes in a sample. There is a fair amount of product for multiple uses. According to So Choix, this is a 3mL sample.
From top to bottom: Givenchy lip liner, Tom Ford eyeliner, and Benefit concealer.
I curated my own nude collection from So Choix this month. The samples were a draw on likes vs non-likes. This subscription makes me happy because it saves me, and my wallet, from products that either don’t work as expected or I just don’t like. $15 is a much better value than the nearly $200 I could have potentially spent on this assortment.
