Graze is a weekly snack subscription box that delivers either 4 or 8 snacks to your home. Snack possibilities include nuts, dried fruits, chips, flapjacks, dippers, soups and more. There are over 100 different concoctions to choose from! Each portion-controlled serving is the perfect pick-me-up for an afternoon at work or at play.

Graze employs an in-house team of experts to develop their recipes. They regularly source their ingredients from small suppliers dedicated to producing the best, tastiest products around. Graze chefs even tried 29 different varieties of raisins before finding the perfect one for one of their recipes!

While you have the opportunity to specify dietary preferences during the set up process, Graze is not safe for those who suffer from food allergies; all of their products are produced in the same facility. Still, if you’re going gluten-free but don’t have celiac disease, for instance, and you feel comfortable potentially exposing yourself to trace amounts of gluten, this subscription would be ideal for you!

Graze makes it very easy to isolate those snacks that are unsuitable for vegetarians, vegans, those avoiding gluten, dairy and soy. They also make it easy to avoid snacks containing nuts, bananas, chocolate, cranberries, pineapple and raisins. With one click you can throw out both snacks that require a microwave and those that are spicy.

Once you specify generally the categories of snacks you’d like to avoid, you can go to the “Our Food” tab to preview a list of available snacks. Here you can place each snack into one of four categories: trash, try, like and love. Once you do that, Graze’s Darwin algorithm generates a box to send out that is tailor made for you! Or, if you’d prefer, you can specify boxes according to nutritional content, including carb counting, calorie counting, sugar counting and high protein boxes.

Although the set up process is time consuming, it was a lot of fun. It left me excited to see what Graze would send.

This month, Graze sent me the following snacks: pumpkin spice flapjacks; veggie Ceasar; wholegrain banana caramel dippers; stars and stripes; energizing almond, carrot & apple; herby bread basket; natural vanilla seeds and Malaysian Laksa.

IMG_6018My kids and I couldn’t wait to try these!

IMG_6019The pumpkin spice flapjacks were so good! They contained lots of spices and made me long for fall. Love.

IMG_6022The veggie Caesar with sour cream and onion half popped corn, cheddar bruschetta and edamame beans was good. It’s heavy on the sour cream and onion. I enjoyed this. Like.

The energizing almond, carrot & apple snack was delicious! The dried apples and gummy carrots provided just the right amount of sweetness, and the almonds were yummy. Love.

IMG_6024Stars and Stripes is a mix of mini blackcurrant stars, raspberry strings and blueberry flavored cranberries. The stars and strings have the consistency of fruit roll ups. All together, this tastes like fabulous candy. It’s so good. I had to fight my kids off just to get a taste. Love.

The herby bread basket is comprised of basil baguettes, garlic crostini & oregano rice crackers. It’s crunchy and fragrant–a perfect savory snack. Love.

IMG_6026The natural vanilla seeds are a combination of pumpkin and sunflower seeds that have been candied with vanilla. My kids and I liked these a lot. Part of me wishes they had been made with a larger nut though. The candy coating overpowered the taste of the seeds somewhat. Like.

IMG_6027The wholegrain banana caramel dippers are plain wholegrain cookies that come with a banana-flavored caramel sauce. The sauce wasn’t my favorite. When I filled out my profile, I must have overlooked that the caramel sauce was flavored with banana. While I love bananas, banana flavoring isn’t my favorite. Oh well. Try.

I wasn’t familiar with Malaysian Laksa before today, but I was eager to try all of Graze’s soups. I thought this was fantastic! It’s basically a well-seasoned lemongrass coconut broth served with a side of chili lime cashews and coconut flakes. The snack complemented the soup perfectly. This would make a great quick meal for someone who had to work through lunch. Love.

In addition to providing nutritional information on each of the snacks I received this month, Graze also included an easy recipe: melt dark chocolate, combine with Graze snacks, let cool and voilà! You’ve taken your snack time up a notch!

I thoroughly enjoyed this month’s snack selection based on my inputs into the Darwin algorithm! I look forward to seeing what the algorithm will send next month. In the meantime, I’ll update my preferences: banana caramel dippers–try, natural vanilla seeds and veggie Ceasar–like, all others–love!
