horrorblock_may2016_boxHorror Block is a monthly subscription box filled with some awesomely gruesome horror toys and collectibles. This box really starts with the box itself.  We love seeing this one show up at my house and even my boys can’t wait to dig in.

This is the inside fold when you start to open the box. Being a huge Walking Dead fan I get a smile every time I open the box.  I love how this box does a great job of mixing older classic horror with new more currently well known titles.

First look at all the contents. This was a well packed box.  I was happy with my first glance as I love POPs and the shirt was so cute just at first glance.

Everything that came in this month’s box.  Each month you will get 5-6 horror themed items.

The front side of the information card.

Back side of the card and all of the descriptions.  These are great cards. They tell me what is included but they always have some fun little notes to go along with it.

Rue Morgue June 2016 Issue ($9.95) – Horror Block includes a monthly magazine from Rue Morgue.  I’m really enjoying these magazines each month. I’m one of those people that still likes to read actual books and real magazines so I love getting this.  It is a really nice quality to with thick pages and a good feel.

Penny Dreadful #01- This is an exclusive variant cover for Penny Dreadful. This is one of those that I see people talk about the new tv show and how great it is and how great the comics are but I’ve never read and/or watched it.  It is one I keep thinking of though so I should really get on that.  This was nice in that it was in the bottom of the box and in a sealed bag so it was well protected.

Deathgasm ($26.10) – The second month that they have sent a movie in the box and I’m ok with that. They are sending lesser known items and sending them on Blu-Ray which is the current go-to format.  This one looks scary and I’m going to have to give it a shot.

High School is Hell! Metal-thrashing Brodie is an outcast in a sea of jocks and cheerleaders until he meets a kindred spirit in fellow metalhead Zakk. After starting their own band, Brodie and Zakk s resentment of the suburban wasteland leads them to a mysterious piece of sheet music said to grant Ultimate Power to whoever plays it. But the music also summons an ancient evil entity known as Aeloth The Blind One, who threatens to tear apart existence itself. Their classmates and family become inhabited by demonic forces, tearing out their own eyes and turning into psychotic murderers… and this is only the beginning! It s up to Brodie, Zakk and their group of friends to stop a force of pure evil from devouring all of mankind.

A blood-soaked and hilarious horror comedy, DEATHGASM features an amazing original soundtrack of fistbanging metal and practical effects to satisfy metalheads and splatter fans alike. DEATHGASM will gush bodily fluids, rain limbs and tickle your funny bone, before tearing it out and giving you a stiff beating with it.

Shirtpunch Gremlins T-shirt (This is an exclusive but other Shirtpunch shirts go for $19.99) – Who doesn’t love Gremlins? It was an instant classic movie and I loved it. This shirt is so fun and totally goes along with the don’t feed them after midnight rule.

Funko Pocket POP! 3-pack – I love Funko POP items and this tin is perfect for a horror box.  Freddy Krueger has always been a favorite of mine for years so I’m glad to have this little guys and his “friends” to add to my collection and put on my shelf.  My son wanted to take these but I said nope they are all mine.

Hockey Mask pin – This pin is really a heavy weight and has great detail. I can’t wait to add it to my pin display when I decide how to display them but for now he is on the shelf with my POPs leaning up so people can see it.

The OMEN vinyl record – this is an exclusive to Horror Block and I’m no sure how I feel about it.  I actually like the OMEN but I have no way to play a vinyl record.  I know its really retro and pretty cool and vintage feeling to get one but not sure how I’ll play it.  I do have some friends who have a record player so I will probably pass it along to them.  It looks to have some great features on it.

So this was an interesting month for me with Horror Block.  For the true all over Horror fans it is going to be an awesome box but while I love the very retro feel of it there wasn’t anything that really just got me overly excited.  I know I’m probably in the minority but I love the kitschy silly horror type items that come some months.
