Mary’s Secret Ingredients box is delivered quarterly for $34. Its a collection of limited edition culinary surprises along with custom recipes sent to your email. This box also has a partnership with Feed the Children to end global hunger, so every box has a good cause.
Cards included are a a note thanking participants for being part of the community and helping important causes. It also gives the web addresses to find recipes. The other booklet is the contents of the box with descriptions of the companies that developed each product and the organizations they support.
This box comes tightly packaged with very little wiggle room so the fragile contents don’t get broken or spilled.
Tea Spot Meditative Mind Sachets ($3) are hand crafted whole leaf tea bags. It smells and tastes like roses. I added a bit of raw honey and was in tea heaven. This tea was so incredible that I went to the website to order more. My father in law passed away from cancer and I love that this company donates 10% of all sales to cancer and community wellness. I may have just found next years Mother’s Day gifts.
Savory Choice International Veggie Authentic Pho Liquid Broth Concentrate ($3) I can tell you that I have never had Pho and my friend at work insists that I try it because she believes I will fall in love.
With that being said I have been looking at recipes to make my own Pho because I figured getting broth in a box was kismet. What I found to be great about this product is that it’s gluten and MSG free.
Sir Kensington’s Dijonnaise ($10?) is a mixture of mayo and dijon mustard, its tangy and creamy at the same time. I’m a huge fan of chicken nuggets and thought to class them up I would use this new sauce, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I can’t wait to try it on a roast beef sandwich. I did some looking around because it’s non GMO and great to see where I can purchase this close to home, without this box I may have missed out on this treat because I can only find one store within 20 miles that sells it.
Just Jan’s Tangerine Marmalade ($6.95) is a sweet treat. This one has less sugar than most brands but the same sweet goodness. I will say that it was super packed and I needed the help of a strong man with a garage full of tools to get the lid off but that was the only draw back.
Limited Edition Tea Cup from Natalie Blake, founder of 100 cups a day. The attached description sheet for 100 cups a day was very inspiring. 100 cups a day is dedicated to open source solutions to bring sustainable, safe, clean drinking water to Mexico and the rest of the globe. This tiny cup is at my desk to make me think what I could do to give back to my community.
Joseph Joseph Rocker Stainless steel garlic crusher ($18) made me the garlic queen in my house. This garlic crusher is simple to use, clean and store. Unlike the traditional press I didn’t need to cut my cloves into reasonable sizes in order fr it to work properly. Also I like that it’s easy to wash out without tiny pieces getting stuck and if I’m feeling lazy I can toss it into the dishwasher.
Mary’s Secret Ingredients box was so much fun. I got to try products that I’ve never heard of and learn about great causes that I may have never known existed. I was impressed that most of the items are from the USA. I can’t wait to go online and check out the recipes and extra content of the website.
