Loot Pets March 2016 Review & Coupon

Loot Pets is a monthly subscription from Loot Crate! Every month they select an assortment of geeky gear for your dog that matches the Loot Crate theme for the month.  I love the pawprints on the box!

This month’s theme was VERSUS, and it showcased items from the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie, as well as items from DC Comics, Alien VS Predator and Star Trek.

Loving Pets Ruff ‘Em Ups! Fruity Protein Puffs for Pups

Loving Pets Turduck’nstein Menacing Meat Treats For Dogs

Both of these treats were huge hits for our dog Lindy!  She’s actually loved all the treats so far in this subscription. The puffs were sort of (I guess, I didn’t taste them) like those apple straws that you get at Trader Joe’s, except also with chicken.

She went really nuts over the meaty treats though, which came as linked sausages. We fed her only about 1/3 of one link – the package says 1 treat per 50 pounds! I wasn’t sure if that was 1 link or 2. I erred on the side of caution!

The expiration dates on these are 2 years out so they’re super fresh.

Loot Pet Labs Alien VS Predator Collar Charm: The collar charms are definitely cool, but if you already get the regular box they might be a bit of overkill (the charm is the same as the Loot Crate Pin), although you can wear them as a necklace on a chain maybe.

Loot Crate Labs Spock Mirror Universe T-Shirt: Creepy Evil Spock vs. Spock! So excited to have another shirt that matches my dog’s adorableness.

FYI, as we mentioned last week, human shirts have been added to Loot Pets! They will match the theme of the box, but won’t be identical to the shirts in the Loot Crate regular box. Current subscribers should update their human shirt sizes by April 3rd at 9pm PT. Currently only unisex sizes to XXL are available. So if you need to match your dog you can now get by with just the Loot Pets crate.

BDA Captain America: Civil War Collapsible Dog Bowl Set: I was totally surprised to find 3 of these when I opened the pack! This is an exclusive item, just really awesome, and totally useful. Also, I would call these portable, not disposable! 

Perfect to clip on for a hike or to stash in the car. Also, can I admit that I’m probably going to use them for “motion sickness” bags? Let’s just say there was a recent incident where Lindy’s water bowl pulled double duty on a car trip.  (Thank you Lindy, you’re the best most tolerating dog in the world!)

Kidrobot Phunny Batman VS Superman Plush ($11.99) This isn’t a dog toy at all, which is fine for our dog, but probably not ok for lots of subscribers with big dogs or dogs that otherwise enjoy destroying toys. It seems more to me like it was maybe intended for another box but they changed their minds, I’m not really sure. It was a hit regardless – we love Batman!

We love Loot Pets but I think already the subscription may be due for a few changes. Loot Crate is very good about sending out subscriber surveys after you receive the box and responds nearly immediately with appropriate changes that match subscriber demands. This was a good box but it seems like this subscription is moving more towards a geeky subscription box for humans and their pet dog rather than geeky dogs. I like it either way probably and I’m excited to see what they do with the the shirt – will it be too “doggy” for me to wear? I’m not sure, but I think I’m setting the shirt up for Tom – he’s even more excited to match Lindy!
