This month’s Gentleman’s Box had some lively and fun picks for the adventurous dresser. Gentleman’s Box is a monthly men’s subscription box – including the required essentials for the savvy man. Each month includes a copy of GQ, which is delivered separately to subscribers. Boxes contain selected items ranging from style to grooming. Each month honors a male archetype that may or may not bring an actual celebrity to mind.
This month is dedicated to “Our Favorite Innovator”- Bill Gates! Each box includes a copy of “The Gentleman’s Post,” A expanded-format booklet filled with cool stuff.
The Post includes a new curator’s letter, information on the inspiration, the contents, details on every item, the Gentleman’s Tip for the month, and an interview with a Gentleman’s Box subscriber. I like this format — it has a nicer look, and the content makes me appreciate the items more.
The Gentlemen’s Post has a description of every item in he box, so no additional info card is needed.
Here’s everything in this month’s box except the copy of GQ ($6), mailed separately to subscribers.
Winners Circle Fashion Co. Classic Sports Watch ($50): This watch has a very clean look, and is suitable for all casual and semi-casual wear. I like the textured bands on a non-heirloom grade watch, as they convey a sense of fun and practicality and aren’t mean’t to fool people into thinking you are wearing a much more expensive watch.
The bands swap out, giving you some pattern options and adding some versatility.
Happy Socks Half Striped Socks ($8.40): Not my cup of tea, but perfect for those who love loud socks. The color scheme is intentionally jarring, as these are meant to show off your playful side. The quality and comfort is great on these, so they are a good sock to grab if you like the look.
Brickell Peppermint Lip Balm ($7.50): Brickell is a good brand — I am working through some eye balm and hair styling cream of theirs right now. Some people enjoy peppermint lip balm, others find it too tingly for damaged lips. I prefer it to fruit varieties, plus it is all-natural.
My Suited Life Wooden Lapel ($25): A very cute lapel pin made of tiny wood slats. This is really great — it has a masculine texture and geometric pattern, yet it is very pretty — a man-broach.
I’m not certain if the contents really tell the story of the theme, other than being both practical and quirky. I am appreciative of the rotating contents of the box — I’ve received this box for quite awhile, and the accessories and items are varied enough that I am not yet swimming in lapel pins. The total value was about $97, which is pretty amazing for a $25 box!
