Frankie & Albert is a monthly home decor subscription box featuring vintage and unique finds! They scour flea markets, yard sales, and antique stores for the best and most unique items and deliver them to you in a monthly box! When you subscribe you’ll fill out a profile indicating what rooms you like to decorate, the materials you love (glass, wood, etc.), your preferred genres, and your favorite colors (and of course – your Pinterest board!).
They sent me a mix of glam and mid-century modern, and that’s just my style. I have a house full of elegant teak furniture but love to decorate in a foofy girly way.
Vintage Glass Decanter + Brass Stopper – This is a whiskey or bourbon decanter marked “Est. 1870” and I was really excited about that because it was the year my sorority (Kappa Alpha Theta, which is actually a women’s fraternity, but that gets confusing if you’re not a Theta) was founded! So this piece was an unexpected delight! I love getting TALL home items in my boxes and I’m working on arranging items into beautiful displays in my home. They also included a brass cork – you can see the top in the picture above or in our video!
An ornately framed 18th century painting print: This definitely mixes things up with a glam look. I’ve been collecting all sorts of prints and frames and cannot wait to make a gallery wall. The throwback look is fun with more modern items. Looks like it might be Important.
A mid century golden goose paperweight: This sleek goose works as a paper weight or just tucked in with other treasures. It’s definitely got the mid-century vibe!
Two white and gold leaf dishes: We weren’t sure what purpose these may have had originally (um, I said to put soap leaves on in the bathroom). I don’t think the gold edging is original to the dish, but who knows! I’m not sure where I’m placing these yet, but it was pretty nifty to get a matched set of items that I can use in a display (or practically). Very glam and fun!
This subscription is a fantastic way to incorporate vintage and other found items in your decor without slogging it out at the yard sale or flea market scene. I say I want to go treasure hunting but my time for that is pretty nil, so having items curated for me is pretty perfect! Boxes typically contain 3-6 items, so $8-$17 per item is really not bad and a lot less spendy than my West Elm addiction, plus there were some real serendipitous finds! FYI – if you spring for a 6 month subscription it works out to a whole box free, and you can stack the HELLO15 promo code on that, which will work out to around $35 per box, which includes the shipping!!
