Birchbox Upgrade Box September 2015 Review + Coupon

The information card. Same size, it just goes lengthwise. Once again the regular card had a different font for the product names than usual, but not this one. How has nobody noticed this but me? It’s driving me crazy.

TOCCA Esfoliante da Corpo – Nourishing Body Scrub in Bianca (Green Tea & Lemon) ($4.71) I love this scent and have purchased Tocca products in it before. This one is a body scrub with sugar and crushed olives! So Italian!

100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream ($10.50) I have never tried caffeine on my terrible eye circles (here they are, if you must!). I’m going to try using this every day to see if I notice a difference. I was happy to get this in my box this month!

POP Beauty POP Portfolio Eyeshadow Sugar Plum ($7.20) I didn’t do sample choice because I wasn’t sure about the shadows – swatch below – but they’re absolutely gorgeous and creamy. I was very pleasantly surprised with this item! I think the color palette is perfect for the grungier looks that seem to pop up this time of year, too!

Helmut Lang Cuiron ($2.48) This is a leathery unisex scent that’s quite spicy. I suppose the fall is more suited to these types of fragrances, but this one will be passed to my husband. The woodsy smell is just not my thing!

Rene Furterer ABSOLUE KÉRATINE Sublime Renewal Leave-in Cream ($6.06) I was admittedly not wowed when I saw this item in the box, I was sort of like whatever, some leave-in conditioner, but it is a keratin leave-in, and left my hair shiny and gorgeous – and worked well on my fine hair, too! A really nice find! The design on the bottle and the font made me think it might be a L’Oreal brand but I don’t find any connection.

These are the full-size items in my upgraded Birchbox. I pay an additional $20 per month for the two items. Plus of course I get 20 extra points when I do my reviews. Woo!

bbrowbar Highlighter ($27) You can use this as a brow highlighter or on your waterline, and it comes with a blending sponge (which I think maybe needs primed – when I tried to blend it worked more as an eraser!). I thought this was a nice creamy product and went on well – much better than a fat pencil product.  I probably wouldn’t have purchased this myself, but now that I have it I’m happy with it!

Club Clio Waterproof Pen Liner Kill Black ($22) This is a BLACK liner and it’s waterproof (I really had a hard time removing it from my arm!). The feathering on my wrist shouldn’t occur on your eyes, but if you’re not practiced with a pen liner, I suggest practicing first with a less waterproof liner. This one means serious business! It was a good item and honestly I was just thankful not to get another full size mascara in my box.
