Power Up Box is a monthly subscription with geek, gamer, and pop culture collectibles and gear. Get an epic box every month with a “Christmas morning, gift opening experience,” 12 times a year! You can choose the premium box (6-9 items) or the deluxe box (4-6 items) and both boxes include a shirt in your opening experience. FYI I have heard from readers that you really should go for the premium box (which this box is). Power Up Box features Funko Vinyl Figures in most of their boxes, which is exciting for us, because we have one huge 4 year old fan. Funko items include Funko Pop!, Mystery Minis, and Dorbz!
My first thought was that I’ve never received two shirts before in any box (besides a t-shirt box).
All the items in the June 2015 Premium PowerUp Box.
Jelly Belly Bean Boozled ($5) Ohhhh these are special. Super duper special. See the photo below.
Dead World Orange Roamer Soda ($5) Well of course it’s a premium zombie beverage! Each bottle has four variant labels. We’re going to save this for my father-in-law – he’s a zombie fan.
So, when I took the picture above I did not realize what these were! They’re gross out beans! I made myself try baby wipes (the kids had eaten all the blues – because they deemed toothpaste as a “safe” gross flavor). BLECH! This is the most perfect teenage boy present I’ve ever seen. Jelly Belly does flavors spot on, so I refused to try anything else!
Funko Dorbz: Guardians Of The Galaxy Rocket Raccoon Action Figure ($11.69) We received a Dorbz the other month (one of the first Dorbz released) and it was not in this packaging! (Maybe he was a mini Dorbz though). I have more photos of him below.
NECA Scalers 2″ Characters Potted Groot Figure ($4.99) This little guy hangs on cords, as shown. My daughter was really pumped about both of these and baby Groot is on her headphones!
Groot #1 with Bonus Digital Edition ($3.99) This series was just released a few weeks ago, so what a great inclusion!
MonopolyT-Shirt – I Want to be a Billionaire ($15) Hi Uncle Pennybags! I want to be a billionaire too!
Monopoly Player Shirt ($15) Both shirts are great quality, and again – there were two! They also served as the wrapping for the glass bottle. Inventive. I really think these are a great style and my husband has a gift planned for his brother with these – they are Monopoly rivals. I believe it will probably include a set of Monopoly Jr and letting his brother teach our daughter how to play.
They really made Rocket (who is kind of a nasty being) into a really cute character!
This box has shown a lot of excellence. I like the variety in the Funkos (not every figure needs to be a POP!, although we do tend to love them best!). I liked also mixing some pop culture like Monopoly in the box. Oh and I like the mini themes the boxes have – not all items have the same theme, but there are usually 2 or 3 around a mini theme so you’re not just getting totally random stuff (and there have been no fillers in this subscription). The premium box is $29.95 per month plus $9.95 shipping, and the deluxe box is $19.95 per month plus $6.95 shipping (fellow readers recommend getting the premium over the deluxe). You can also gift a box to your fave geek!
