Vellabox September 2024 Review: Beautiful Moon Candle Co!

Each month you will find your candle in a reusable, sturdy cloth bag. The pattern or color changes each time and I can’t help thinking how well this matches the month of September.

Beautiful Moon Candle Co. Sunset Hayride ($30) Vellabox sends candles from a different maker each month and Beautiful Moon Candle Co. is a one-woman show. I noticed that their candles are made from a soy and coconut wax blend but my jar says soy only, which may be specific only to Vellabox. Also, Beautiful Moon only sells 8 ounce candles, so if you want one that’s larger or smaller then again, you can find it at Vellabox! The scent notes for this candle are some of my favorites: bergamot, sage, fir, palo santo, patchouli, smoke, dark musk, and spices. In fact, it’s quite a combination but of course I can only smell a general sweet, smokey, spicy, slightly nutty scent. It is spot on for autumn! I’ve burned it a few different times and this is one of those polite scents that doesn’t have much throw but that smells lovely when you walk right by it.

Vellabox Air Freshener in Autumn Air, Set of 2 ($12) The bonus item for this month’s box is a set of two hanging air fresheners with scent notes that include apple, pear, moss, wood, and musk. It is sweet and more of a clean scent than a traditional fall-like smell, I can almost smell the apples. You can hang it in your car if your state allows you too but I prefer to place it somewhere in my living room so I can catch a whiff every now and then, but please note that this is very strong when it’s first opened. Also, make sure it doesn’t touch anything precious because the fragrance oils will transfer.

I was enchanted with the scent of my latest candle from Vellabox! The scents are always perfect for the season and I especially liked Sunset Hayride from Beautiful Moon Candle Co. So many of the scent notes are favorites of mine and they worked really well together. So far I feel like it’s best to have this candle burning nearby (but always in a safe area where you can observe it and keep it safe from pets and people) since I didn’t detect a huge hot throw. If you’re looking for something to scent an entire room then check out the air fresheners from the Vellabox shop, they are strong but of course mellow over time.
