Each month you will find your candle in a reusable, sturdy cloth bag. The pattern or color changes each time and tends to complement the season.
Vellabox Oversized Flannel ($38) The candle brand featured this month is none other than Vellabox’s very own Vella & Co.! I received a scent that is described as woodsy and it has notes of mahogany, amber, and musk. While I have no idea what actual mahogany smells like I will say that this candle smells smokey, woodsy, sweet, and has a hint of musk. I didn’t notice much throw while it was burning but maybe my nose is blind to some scents.
Vella & Co Wild Rosemary Hand Cream ($10) Vella & Co. sells other products too, like candle accessories, but they also offer a couple of items for the body, like this lovely scented hand lotion! Some subscribers received this scent in a candle this month, and all subscribers received it as the bonus item of the month. It’s made with aloe, argan oil, and glycerin and is scented with fragrance oil. The notes are rosemary, cedar, and sea salt and it has an uplifting herbal aroma. I used just a bit and my hands weren’t greasy after applying, and the fragrance was wonderful and lasted a while on my skin.
Vellabox keeps bringing the cozy factor this season and the Oversized Flannel candle and Wild Rosemary hand lotion both had scents that seem especially homey for fall. While I kind of forgot the candle was burning, scent-wise, I still felt comforted by its cheerful light as the night continues to show up earlier each day. The hand lotion didn’t leave telltale marks everywhere after I applied it but I noticed the scent lingered for a long time afterwards, so I will switch to applying it to my forearms because I don’t really like for my hands to have a perfumed smell once they’ve been washed, it gives an odd effect when I snack on finger foods like carrots and celery sticks. I’m fine with the scent on my arms though! Vellabox is one of the subscription boxes I especially look forward to receiving every month and it was fun to try their own in-house offerings for a change.
