Father of All… Dark Roasts ($14.99) This bag contains an intense dark roast of coffee just like the way Billie Joe wanted it to be! It’s made by roasting the coffee long and slow to produce a smooth and rich flavor without burning the beans. They sent us ground, for hipsters too cool to grind their beans, but they have beans, too so you can produce your perfect cup with your own perfect grind for whatever kind of brewing you’re in to.
They take pride on their premium grade organic coffee, and they also use a compostable packaging. Oakland Coffee’s bags and pods are made out of compostable, plant-based materials, allowing you to compost their packaging in an industrial composting facility – and they were the first! And yes, the degassing valve is also compostable – these guys really did their homework and led the way in creating this bag in partnership with engineers and packaging wizzes.
The packaging also features Oakland Coffee’s brief history. It doesn’t say Green Day on the bag – anywhere! – but the story is that they’ve been involved in curating awesome blends from the start, and that’s where Oakland Coffee came from.

This blend features coffee from Sumatra, Guatemala, and Honduras. Oakland exclusively sources and roast organic certified, high-quality certified organic coffee from small farms and cooperatives.
I really enjoyed its dark cocoa flavor. It’s a great blend for those who prefer their morning coffee strong!
There’s no bitter aftertaste, only a smooth and rich flavor in every sip.
Atomic Garden ($14.99) This crowd favorite blend was made as a tribute to the founders’ friend and family at the Atomic Garden store in Oakland.
This medium dark roast coffee has a smooth and full flavor. It provides a smooth coffee taste as it is infused with other flavors to create an addicting everyday staple.
Atomic Garden’s beans are a combination of beans from Columbia and Honduras.
It has a creamy and dark chocolate base, with a light kick of honey that came from the Honduran beans.
The flavor stays on the palate and the aroma is so inviting. The notes also blend well with each other!
These blends are really great – you can really see the color difference in the beans here, too.
Any day can be a great day, especially when you start it with a cup of coffee (or a Green Day with a cup of Oakland coffee)! This box includes a bag of strong dark coffee and a bag of flavorful coffee, along with other fun items like stickers and a mug. Both coffees are delicious! The beans are roasted to be bold without being bitter or acidic. I also appreciate that they are packed using compostable packaging. This is a nice step to help take care of our environment. Whether you’re a fan of Green Day or you simply want high-quality coffee (or both!), this subscription is worth a try. You can select among their current bundles or even build your own box, and the plans are pretty flexible since you can pause or change your selection any time.
