Our Graze four-pack arrived just in time for some weekend snacking!  Graze is a weekly snack box (you can opt to get it bi-weekly too or every month) with four little prepackaged fresh and healthy snacks. Here’s how it works:  once you sign up, you “like” the snacks that interest you on the Graze website.  Your next scheduled box is then assembled from some of your likes, so you never get something you don’t want to try.  You can snag your first snack box free with this link!

This week’s theme was inspired by Summer and the flavors of Hawaii.  At least, I imagine it as being Hawaiian-inspired — because Graze puts together a box comprised of items in which you’ve expressed interest, the composition of any box depends on what you’ve signaled as OK to send.

Included was a card promoting the new broths offered by Graze as choices in upcoming boxes.  Broths will be an interesting addition.  Most snacks feature nuts, seeds, dried fruits, tiny crackers, cookies or candies, other yummy crispy things, and the occasional sauce or jam.  The addition of broths shows that Graze is really expanding their concept to include some creative variety.  Might an explosion of options be around the corner?  Support the new choices, and we may see some additional creativity in response.

Nutrition info is included on each of the selections.  You will see a host of healthy ingredients and no weird stuff.  When they sweeten dried cranberries, for example, it is usually with fruit juice rather than corn or cane sugars.

Here is what we received, chosen from among the options we green-lighted online:

Vitamin E Defense – Hazelnut, Peanut, Cranberry & Raisin:  tastes as you would expect, with buttery hazelnuts and crunchy peanuts complement by tangy and sweet fruit.

Wholegrain Banana Caramel Dippers – Banana Shortbread with caramel Sauce: Yum.  The shortbread would be a fine treat on its own, but the caramel sauce puts it over the top.

Beach Bum – Pineapple, Coconut Flakes and Chewy Banana Coins:  This Hawaiian delight has the feature flavors of the island chain, and no funny stuff.

Herby Bread Basket – Basil Baguettes, Garlic Crostini and Oregano Rice Crackers:  Sometimes you just need some bread.  This is herbed-up and crunchy.  This is a great way to get your bread fix without risking inhaling an entire loaf of garlic bread.

Graze is wonderful for mindful snackers.  The treats are portioned, so you can’t go too wild, and the ingredients are unadulterated and natural.  Plus, you declare your preferences ahead of time — you may not know exactly what you are getting in each box until it arrives, but you know for sure it is something you like or are at least interested in trying.  You can get an individually sized box free for your first box in a Graze subscription. Canceling is easy online, no reason not to try it in my opinion!
