When I reach for Vilhelm Parfumerie Poets of Berlin, it’s usually for those sunny spring mornings when I want to feel refreshed and put together. Its zesty top notes of blueberry and lemon are perfect for starting the day on a bright note, whether I’m off to work or running errands. Also, I’ve noticed that it holds up well compared to other fragrances I’ve tried, sticking around without overwhelming my senses.

Moving on to the Bloomeffects Tulip Tint Lip & Cheek Balm in Crispa Coral ($45), I was drawn to its vibrant color and promise of hydration. Upon application, I was pleasantly surprised by its creamy texture, which glided effortlessly onto my lips and cheeks. The fresh coral shade instantly brightened my complexion, imparting a natural flush that looked as though I had just been kissed by the sun. What I loved most was its versatility—I could start with a sheer wash of color and build it up depending on my desired intensity, making it perfect for both subtle daytime looks and bold evening statements.

The MUDMASKY Midnight Hand Mask ($55) was a true treat for my tired hands. As I applied it before bed, I couldn’t help but appreciate its luxurious texture and fast-absorbing formula. Made in France, this overnight hand mask promises to deliver soft, nourished hands by morning. And the best part? It’s non-sticky, so you can even use it during the day for an extra boost of hydration.

The Elemis Peptide4 Recovery Eye Cream ($50) came just in time for my tired, overworked eyes. With its promise to tackle dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines, it seemed like the perfect solution for my lack of sleep lately. The formula contains Peptide4, a powerful ingredient known for its rejuvenating properties. Applying just a small amount, I gently patted it around my delicate eye area until it absorbed, instantly feeling its hydrating effects. It’s a great addition to my nighttime skincare routine!

Ideal for sunlit days, the Elta MD Skincare UV Daily Tinted Face Sunscreen ($41) shields my skin without any heaviness. With its sheer, lightweight formula and infusion of hyaluronic acid, it not only provides sun protection but also offers a hydrating boost. This feature is particularly beneficial for my dehydrated skin, leaving it feeling nourished throughout the day. Plus, it’s non-comedogenic, so I never have to worry about it clogging my pores. I’ve found it layers seamlessly under makeup, making it a convenient choice for days when I want to look and feel my best while staying protected from the sun.

As someone who struggles with finding the right balance between hydration and weightlessness for my hair, I was eager to give the Chris Appleton + Color Wow Money Masque ($45) a try. Its thick consistency felt luxurious as I applied it from root to tip, and I appreciated that it didn’t weigh my hair down like some other masks tend to do. The added bonus of heat protection was a nice touch, especially since I often use styling tools on my hair.

The Natura Ekos Tukuma Exfoliating Shower Gel ($18) combines Tukumã oil raw oil with natural Maracujá seed exfoliating particles to gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Upon opening the bottle, I was greeted by a lovely floral fragrance that instantly lifted my spirits. The gel itself has a silky texture that lathers up nicely, and I could feel the exfoliating particles working their magic as I massaged it into my skin. After rinsing, my skin felt smooth and refreshed, and I appreciated that the exfoliation wasn’t too harsh.

The theme of getting ready for warmer weather shines through with the selection of products in the May 2024 Allure Beauty Box. From skincare essentials to hair treatments and makeup must-haves, there’s a little something for everyone in here. I appreciate the variety and the chance to try out new brands and products that I might not have discovered otherwise. In terms of value, I think the box delivers, especially considering the price compared to buying each item individually. That being said, there’s always room for improvement. Maybe a bit more customization options or including larger sizes of some products would take it up a notch. But overall, I’m happy with what I got and excited to see what next month brings!

Allure Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 6 or more beauty products (at least 3 of those will be full-sized) with a retail value of at least $100+ and is curated by the editors of Allure Magazine, who choose and test the products themselves.
