Clear Skin Essential Oil ($17.99) Our blend for the month is supposed to help fight blemishes and is made up of cedar wood, tea tree, lemon, juniper berry, and sandalwood essential oils and smells rather strong and medicinal.

Copaiba Balsam Essential Oil ($15.99) Here is another oil that may help fight acne but it also offers joint support. It has a warm, “buttery” scent.

Geranium Essential Oil ($16.99) Geranium may also help with skin woes, such as soothing and reducing redness. It has an earthy floral aroma.

Lemon Essential Oil ($9.99) Our final oil is sunny and uplifting, like sunshine in a bottle. Guess what, it also helps fight blemishes and of course it can be used to make cleaning supplies too.

Here are the extras for the month, which will be used to complete our recipes. We received a Gua Sha Facial Tool, Face Serum Base, and Emulsifying Wax ($2.99). I would expect the extras to show up in the Simply Earth online shop, perhaps near the end of the month, in case you want more.

Each month we receive six new recipes to add to our collection.

Some of the recipes continue on the back of the card, while others have important info about the subscription.

Below are some of the projects I completed using this month’s recipes and extras!

I dropped the essential oils into my diffuser, added water, and pressed the on button. This is the easiest way to use essential oils, and one of my favorites.

I also made the Melt Away Cleansing Balm. I used almond oil, solid coconut oil, and beeswax from my Big Bonus Box, and emulsifying wax from this box, plus the Clear Skin Essential Oil Blend. It was easy to make: basically, you melt the oils and wax, stir in the essential oil, and pour into a container (I found one at home but you can order containers from Simply Earth or Amazon).

This is what it looked like when finished. You apply some to your face, gently rub it around, and then towel it off (I used a tissue) followed by a wash cloth dipped in warm water. This balm isn’t water soluble, so I followed with a second cleanse using my regular product to get all of the oil off of my face.

The final product I made was the Fresh Flowers Face Serum. I used the oils and serum base that came in the box, but you need to provide your own container, like the 1/2 ounce serum bottle shown above (mine was left over from a previous box). Place the essential oils in the bottle, swirl to mix, then top it off with the serum base.

This bottle has a dropper inside so I simply place a few drops in my palm and then spread it on my face. Geranium tends to have a strong smell so that’s what this face oil smelled like! There was a plastic gua sha tool included as an extra, so if you like you can use it to massage the oil into the skin, I’m sure YouTube has some tutorials if you need more info on how to use one.

Making you own skincare products can be quite easy, as my latest Simply Earth Recipe Box taught me. There were three other recipes for products such as a face cream, priming butter, and clear skin roll-on, and the only one that had extra steps was for the lotion, and I don’t have a hand mixer and thermometer needed to complete that recipe. Other than that, these were very simple to follow, just make sure you have a container to store your new products in since they weren’t included.

Simply Earth is a monthly subscription that sends high-quality essential oils along with recipes and ingredients to make natural beauty and home products! Each box comes with 4 essential oils, containers, extra ingredients to make the recipes, and 5 – 7 recipes on recipe cards. When you sign up (and every 6 months thereafter) you will receive a FREE Big Bonus Box full of extra containers and ingredients needed for the recipes, such as carrier oils and bottles.
