I kicked off the New Year by giving my skin a treat with the Elta MD UV Daily Tinted SPF 40 ($41). This moisturizing sunscreen is perfect to combat the crisp January air – the sheer tint gives my face a subtle glow, perfect for that no-makeup makeup look. It’s surprisingly lightweight, and the infusion of hyaluronic acid feels like a burst of hydration, just what my skin needed post-holiday hustle. With consistent use, it’s also said to work against fine lines and wrinkles – a promising start for a year of flawless skin protection.

The RoC Skincare Hydrate + Plump Serum Capsules ($32.99) are a delightful addition to my routine. These little capsules are not only environmentally friendly (biodegradable, yay!) but also come with a twist-to-open feature that adds a touch of novelty. Applying the serum is a breeze – just apply serum over a cleansed face and neck, and you’re good to go. I’ve incorporated it into my nightly ritual, and the hyaluronic acid infusion feels like a hydration boost for my skin. It’s simple, easy, and adds a touch of pampering to my nighttime regimen.

Next is the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray ($38), which packs a punch as a makeup setting spray. This was the product I was most excited to try from this month’s box. I love the dewy finish it gives! What’s cool is that it’s alcohol-free, so it doesn’t dry up my skin. A quick shake to mix and activate the dual-phase formula, and it’s ready to hydrate. The versatility is a win – not just for setting makeup but also as a pre-makeup application booster. I find myself reaching for it throughout the day for a refreshing recharge.

All about giving the hair some extra love, Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask ($0.64) is safe to use on keratin, Brazilian, and color-treated hair. Applying it to wet hair is a breeze, and the wait time (2-5 minutes) is just enough to belt out a quick shower song. The scent is a bonus – a delightful mix of freesia, plum, and a warm touch of amber. Rinse it off thoroughly, and voilà! It’s such a nice little self-care treat to start the week.

The Dermelect Transfix Nail Restore and Repair Base Coat ($18) isn’t just your regular base coat. It also treats damaged nails and helps bring them back to life. With an elegant, sheer nude shade, it provides full coverage and also mimics the appearance of a healthy nail bed. I love that it can be worn alone for a natural vibe. Aside from treating nail damage, it’s said to also target other nail problems like ridges, discoloration, brittleness, dehydration, and those pesky spots.

Infused with anti-aging properties, L’Occitaine Immortelle Divine Cream ($9.47) aims to tackle fine lines and wrinkles. The texture is nourishing and hydrating, thanks to the infusion of organic Immortelle essential oil. Using just a dime-sized amount, I’ve found it to be the perfect canvas before applying makeup – creating a smooth base. It has also earned a spot as my evening moisturizer, a little pampering for my skin at the end of the day.

The Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream boasts a lineup of natural ingredients like olive oil, beeswax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, and bee propolis. It’s a hydration hero and works wonders on repairing the skin. The versatility is impressive – it doubles as a moisturizer, acne treatment, lip balm, eye cream, and more. I’ve also found it soothing skin irritations. It’s become my go-to for those days when my skin needs a little extra love.

This month’s Allure Beauty Box perfectly aligns with the spirit of new beginnings. Each product in the curation seems like a thoughtful addition to my routine, offering a mix of skincare and beauty essentials that effortlessly blend into my daily rituals. From the versatile creams that cater to specific skin needs to the makeup goodies that add a touch of glamour, it’s a well-rounded assortment. It’s like a personalized toolkit for embracing the new year with a fresh glow and a commitment to self-pampering. Here’s to radiant beginnings!
