Deck The Halls Soy Candle ($18 for a 9 ounce candle) With notes of lemon peel, fir, and evergreen, I can tell you this smells like the holidays! I have an artificial Christmas tree but this candle makes my living room smell festive and like there’s a possibility my tree is maybe real. This candle has a soy wax base and the 16 ounce size is supposed to burn for around 80 hours. The scent stayed in my living room and wasn’t overwhelming, but it was noticeable.
Vellabox Oversized Flannel Hand Cream ($10) Vellabox carries a candle in this scent and now they’ve turned it into a hand lotion! It has cozy notes of woods, amber, and bergamot in a base that includes aloe, camellia seed oil, glycerin, and mineral oil. It’s a warm seasonal scent and the lotion isn’t heavy or greasy.
Vellabox sent an amazing candle for December! Everyone in my home enjoyed the seasonal scent, it was perfect for this time of year. Vellabox has a knack for choosing just what I want in a candle, such as scents that are bright but not overwhelming, that are made with clean-burning soy wax, and that are scented with phthalate-free fragrances. It’s such a small thing, lighting a candle at the end of the day or when it’s looking cold and damp outside, and it provides a small spark of brightness at any time of the year, but especially as winter draws near. The hand lotion was welcome since my hands are increasingly dry and ragged thanks to increased hand washing and cold air.
