Kinder Beauty Box for December 2023 was themed The Calm Box and inside there were five items to help me treat my skin with kindness as the year draws to a close. Kinder Beauty lets you “build your box”. They send three items chosen for everyone by Kinder, then you will get to customize two other items from a short list. You are also able to purchase add-ons that ship with your monthly box. Kinder Beauty kindly sent most of the item choices for review so the picture shown above is what I would have chosen for myself!

Everyone gets these three items!

Evio Hydrogel Eye Therapy 6 Set Box ($18) Eye gels promise so many different things, don’t they? Instant de-puffing, collagen boosting, deeply hydrating, wrinkle reducing. This has hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and moss. I applied and left them on for about 20 minutes, and was able to walk around without them slipping. There wasn’t any essence left to pat in afterwards and there was no greasy feel. I appreciate that these were free of fragrance.

Pure Am pH Balance Calming Toner ($19) I like the words used to describe this toner: hydrating, balancing, calming (which are not words I would use to describe their website, which refused to let me close the discount offer and I had to look elsewhere for info on the product). Some of the ingredients are yuzu water, glycerin, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, aloe, green tea, cica. It has no added fragrance and doesn’t smell like anything at all. You are supposed to pat it on your face with your fingers but I used a cotton pad and it removed traces of makeup that my cleanser missed.

Symbiosis London Damascan Rose + Hibiscus Nutrient-Rich Bamboo Treatment Mask ($25) I have a hard time believing anyone would get $25 worth of benefits from a one-time use sheet mask. It’s supposed to help soothe and calm the skin and reduce redness while also leaving the face revitalized. Some of the ingredients are peppermint extract, glycerin, rose water, aloe, tea extract, tons of other plant extracts, hyaluronic acid, and for whatever reason, more peppermint extract. Also, perfume. I am waiting to try it out on New Year’s Eve, it seems like a cool way to end the year, with calmly revitalized skin.

Choice Items 1:

Wander Beauty Double Date Eyeshadow Duo in Smitten/Swoon ($26) I liked this shadow duo, and probably would have loved it in a lighter color. These were darker than I was expecting and though I applied it to my lid, these are colors I would usually apply to my crease. I am going to play around with it using some of my other shadows but it was easy to apply and there wasn’t much fall out.

Swatched on top is the Wander eyeshadow powder in Smitten, followed by the creamy Swoon in the middle, and then a base of Swoon with Smitten on top is on the bottom.

ATHR Beauty The Big Bang Mascara ($14) I’m not sure why Kinder sent out a mascara from a company that went out of business 6 months ago, it’s not like you can buy more (except whatever stock Kinder has on hand). It’s supposed to have a unique wand and one of the ingredients is diamond powder for extra shine. It worked pretty much the same as any other mascara, but the container is pretty!

Alamar Cosmetics Brush Set ($18) I have a couple of new shadow palettes coming for Christmas and I’m excited to have some wonderful brushes to play around with when they get here! In the meantime, I tried them with products already in my makeup box and found them to work well to achieve my desired look. The three brushes in this set are the Detailed Diffuser, Crease Control, and Pigment Packer.

Choice Item 2: Kinder Beauty Embroidered Spa Headband ($18) or Province Apothecary Moisturizing Oil Cleanser + Make-Up Remover (Not shown, $22) An item was missing from my box and of course it’s the item I would have chosen for myself but it happens (subscribers should reach out to Kinder if they have a missing item). I received this headband in a previous box and it didn’t fit, so my daughter Karina uses it (and she likes that it has her initial). I tried this one on and it was threatening to fall off when Karina told me she wears it with the K in the back, so I tried it and it still doesn’t work, it pulls back my hair and then keeps going until it falls off.

The December Kinder Beauty Box helped me sail through the holiday season with thoughtful products, like masks for my face and eyes, a choice of makeup items or brushes for creating gorgeous eyes, a choice of a headband or oil to help me clean it all off at the end of the day, and a toner to remove every last trace of makeup. I’m sorry I didn’t get to try the cleansing oil but I’m sure it was a good one, that brand is one I look forward to receiving in subscription boxes. The value for my box was around $106, but your value may vary depending on which items you chose to complete your box.

There was an insert that tells you Kinder has an online shop for all of your vegan and cruelty-free beauty needs, including wellness products.
