Downtime Essential Oil ($12.99) Downtime is our essential oil blend of the month. This is a combo of bergamot, lavender, marjoram, ho wood, and frankincense that’s supposed to promote rest and provide a calm feeling. It smells warm and little like something I might use to clean the house.

Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil ($10.99) Eucalyptus smells strong and a little medicinal, but in a cool, clean way. It helps fight colds and may boost immunity and can be made into a rub for sore muscles.

Palmarosa Essential Oil Blend ($13.99) This is supposed to smell a little like roses but it’s rather hay-like and strong to my nose. It says it’s supposed to both calm and energize and may help fight breakouts.

Tangerine Essential Oil ($9.99) Tangerine smells sweet as candy and is yet another one of those that can both energize and promote rest, and may aid digestion.

Natrasorb Bath Powder ($2.99) is derived from tapioca and helps bath bombs and salts work better in the tub. Dried Rose Petals ($2.99) add a fun and upscale look to bath projects. Bath Salt Soak ($2.99) is a blend of Epsom, Pink Himalayan, and Dead Sea salts. All three of these items will be used in the projects below, although of course you can use them in other projects too.

Simply Earth always includes a sheet of pre-scored stickers to place on our bottles and finished projects.

Each month we receive six new recipes to add to our collection.

Sometimes the recipes continue on the back of the cards, but mostly they list important info like what’s in the box, what’s coming next month, and more.

Below are a few of the projects I completed with this month’s recipe box and supplies!

I run the diffuser most often in the morning and so I’m always happy to have a new recipe to help me start my day. This blend is supposed to smell like fresh cut flowers, although I think it smells a bit like autumn. I notice that most times I run the diffuser, the blends smell different each time, like maybe some of the oils evaporate quicker and base notes remain? So maybe it will eventually smell like flowers?

I have a stash of rollerballs that I’ve made thanks to Simply Earth that are kept right next to my computer. Each time I sit down to blog or web surf I pick one and apply it on my wrists or inner arms. This blend smelled most like fresh cut tangerines, always a lovely scent to my nose. I poured a few drops of essential oil into an empty rollerball bottle that I received in my Big Bonus Box. Next, I topped it with coconut oil, also from the BB Box. I placed the rollerball in place, applied the label, and gave it a good shake to mix it all up.

We received recipes for two different bath salts, a sugar scrub, and a bath powder, but I don’t need all of those right now so I just made the Inhale Exhale Bath Salts recipe, to be used as a foot soak. I mixed almond oil with the listed essential oils, added some Natrasorb powder and bath salts (both were extras that were included), and then mixed it all up. I found a container from a previous recipe that was unused and carefully spooned the mixture inside, then added the label. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sure smells a lot like eucalyptus.

What a fun theme for the July Simply Earth Recipe Box! I’ve pretty much given up baths in favor of showers but I do enjoy a foot soak every once in a while so the bath salts will be used in that manner. I love diffusing and I have found several favorite combos thanks to Simply Earth. I also appreciate the rollerball blends each month and frequently reach for my rollies to pass over my wrists every few hours when I’m at home, and I even have one I carry with me to work for an afternoon boost (it has mint of course). Simply Earth takes the guesswork out of using essential oils and most projects are super simple, although there’s some with a few more steps for those who prefer a slightly more advanced experience.
