Kinder Beauty Box for August 2023 was themed Summer Mood Box and inside there were five beauty items to help us keep calm and keep our skin nourished! Kinder Beauty lets you “build your box”. They send three items chosen for everyone by Kinder, then you will get to customize two other items from a short list. You are also able to purchase add-ons that ship with your monthly box. Kinder Beauty kindly sent all of the item choices for review so the picture shown above is what I would have chosen for myself!

Everyone gets these three items!

Dr. Botanicals La Rose Francaise Facial Cleansing Bar ($14.90) This soap is heavily scented with rose parfum, so it’s going to be gifted since it’s not something I personally enjoy. If you love the scent of roses, then you might love this! It’s supposed to moisturize the skin with sweet almond and avocado oils.

Cardea AuSet Calm Mood Mist ($26.40) You can spray this once on your body or up to three times into the air and then take a deep breath and relax. It’s made with water, witch hazel, and a few essential oils, mainly lavender. That’s what it smells like and of course, lavender is known to help us relax.

100% Pure Sheet Mask: Collagen Boost Mask ($7) I rarely do masks of any kind but I thought I’d give this one a try since it had no added fragrance and claimed to hydrate skin with hyaluronic acid. Aloe is the first ingredient and there is glycerin, flower extracts, and essential oils. I placed it on my face and it was very cooling to my skin, always a plus when it’s so hot outside. The cooling effect lasted a few minutes after I removed the mask, I’m guessing it was due to the gel evaporating but it felt nice. I didn’t care for the scent, which was a combo of coffee and peanut butter and which was so strong that I only wore it for about 5 minutes. The gel didn’t feel sticky or oily when dry.

Choice 1: Here are the choices from category one:

Three Ships Beauty Cherry Lip Exfoliator ($13) I like lip scrubs and use them for maintenance, I would never use it on broken skin (the model on the brand’s website looks like she has cracked lips!). It’s mainly sugar with coconut oil and shea butter with a hint of cherry flavoring (that actually smells more like almonds). I placed a pea-sized amount on my lips and then rubbed it around before wiping it off with a tissue, then a warm, damp washcloth. My lips were soft afterwards!

Flower Mill Beauty Repairing Cacao Facial Mask ($24) Once again, I don’t really do masks and a clay mask that draws out oils is one I especially avoid. My oldest was going to a bachelorette weekend and asked if I had any masks that she could take to share and when I offered her this one she declined, I think because it smells off. I didn’t think any of the ingredients could go rancid and yet it smells rancid so in the end this product didn’t get used by anyone in my household.

Franklin & Whitman East Falls Sea Salt Hair Mist ($19.95) This product has interesting ingredients such as aloe, pink Himalayan salt, Dead Sea salt, Epsom salt, sea kelp, and a few essential oils. In fact, it smells almost exclusively of lemongrass. You are supposed to spray this onto your hair and then let it air dry and you get that beach-day hair feeling, which is funny because when I get done at the beach I always take a shower! I just sprayed it onto my end-of-day hair and tousled it a bit and voila, I now have beach hair!

Choice 2: Here are the choices from category two:

The Dirty Lamb Ultra Night Serum ($56) This oil is meant for those who have oily or acne-prone skin but I like it and I have dry skin. It’s a blend of oils such as wheat germ and sweet almond, plus a few essential oils. It glides on easily and smells good, it’s a nice combo of lavender, orange, and ylang ylang. The oils have antioxidants and wheat germ oil has vitamin E, and both of those are supposed to be good for the skin. It’s not super heavy, but keep in mind that the orange oil may make skin sensitive to the sun.

Jane Iredale Beyond Lash Volumizing Mascara ($28) I thought this mascara made my lashes more noticeable than usual, so I’m a fan! The ingredients are supposed to help strengthen the lashes and it provided length and volume. I didn’t notice any flaking or smudging, so I will be reaching for this mascara often (and will replace it in 3 months).

I don’t know about you, but I am so over summer but thankfully Kinder sent a calming mist to help me relax plus a lovely face oil to soothe my parched skin and of course some mascara that doesn’t seem to smudge in the heat and humidity. I also enjoyed the lip scrub and its gentle scent, plus the sea salt spray gave me temporary waves, at least for an afternoon! Keep in mind that boxes will vary in value depending on which items you choose, but the value for my box (as shown in the very first picture) was around $125!

Below is a card that was included and below that is a box opening picture.
