Kinder Beauty Box for June 2023 was themed Dew Some Good and inside there were five beauty items and an emphasis on self-care. Kinder Beauty lets you “build your box”. They send three items chosen for everyone by Kinder, then you will get to customize two other items from a short list. You are also able to purchase add-ons that ship with your monthly box. Kinder Beauty kindly sent all of the item choices for review so the picture shown above is what I would have chosen for myself!

Everyone gets these three items!

AllWell Botanical Hydrating Moisturizer ($54) I really like the pump dispenser on this container, it makes me feel like it’s less likely to become contaminated. Inside was a thick moisturizer that was quick to be absorbed by my skin. It also had a light scent that brings to mind nuts, maybe from the shea butter? It’s supposed to keep skin moist and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I didn’t notice any residue after applying to my face but I could feel it after applying to the back of my hand, but I won’t be wearing it there anyways.

Well People Revitalizing Dew Snow Mushroom Eye Gel Cream ($18) This eye cream is supposed to plump up the skin around the eyes and hydrate it as well. It has some good ingredients like aloe, glycerin, niacinamide, and snow mushroom extract. There’s no scent and the product itself is a lightweight, non-oily gel. It’s supposed to be used twice a day but I would not use this in the morning if you wear eye makeup. As soon as I applied shadow I ended up with lots of pilling, which wasn’t the look I was going for.

Mudmasky Root Feeding Hair Mask ($19) So many hair care products have fragrance so I was thrilled when I saw this conditioner was fragrance-free! It’s a mask that you apply after shampooing and you leave it on for about a minute before rinsing. It’s supposed to nourish the scalp, control dandruff, and smooth the cuticle so hair looks better. It has clay, which is supposed to sop up some of the oil that’s near the roots. It also has glycerin, castor oil, argan oil, and flower extracts. It doesn’t smell wonderful but I don’t mind, and my tangles were easy to comb out afterwards. I styled my hair as usual and didn’t feel like it was weighed down or hard to curl.

Choice 1: Here are the choices from category one:

Koyal Beauty Gentle Gel Face Wash ($20) I was happy to try this fragrance-free gel cleanser, but it had some good points and bad. The good points are that it has no parfum and is meant for dry skin. It removed all of my face makeup (I didn’t use it on my eyes). It also turned into a whole lot of suds, which can be good or bad. The bad points are that too much came out at once and it smelled bad, like maybe some of the ingredients had turned rancid (it was sealed when I opened it). I felt like it made my skin dry. Mainly, I just can’t get over the smell. I don’t expect fragrance-free items to smell particularly good, but I certainly don’t expect them to smell like they’ve gone off.

Well People Expressionist Volumizing Mascara ($20) This mascara is supposed to volumize lashes and leave them looking fuller while remaining flake free and yet easy to remove. It seemed a little drier than similar products and did the basics, made my lashes slightly more noticeable. I didn’t notice any flaking and it was easy to remove using micellar water and a cloth.

Choice 2: Here’s the items from category two:

Sukin Revitalizing Facial Scrub ($5.99) This is a creamy skin scrub, perfect for those of us with drier skin types. The gentle scrubbiness comes from bamboo extract and walnut shell powder and there’s some essential oils, glycerin, and jojoba oils. If your skin feels particularly silky after using then it’s because there’s a slight film left over after rinsing. It has slight natural scent that I like and I will use this product up!

Made by Kinder Dew Gooder Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($26) Hyaluronic acid is a big helper in the skin care world because it holds way more than its weight in water. This product also has niacinamide, lactic acid, glycerin, and citrus essential oils. It doesn’t really have a scent. This product is supposed to improve skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and improve the skin’s barrier. I felt that it was very sticky, even when dry. I used it a couple of different times, including after using the exfoliator above, and was actually surprised to find that it made my cheek sting. Unfortunately, I had pilling with this product too, so I would suggest using it at night if you happen to wear makeup and/or sunscreen during the day.

Moonlit Skincare Vegan Bamboo Silk Scrunchie ($4) This scrunchie is made with “vegan silk”, which the website says is actually bamboo fibers. I think it feels like polyester, which it is but then again actual silk is not appropriate for this subscription box so I’ll take it. Actually, I have hair that’s too short and fine to wear it up so this will be gifted to one of my daughters.

This month’s Kinder Beauty Box was a good one, and most of the items are products that I would use again and again. I especially liked the hair mask, I was able to easily comb out my tangles yet it didn’t weigh down my hair and thankfully it was fragrance-free. I also enjoyed using the face scrub and the rich moisturizer, both worked well and left my skin soft. The other items worked fine but I did have a couple of problems but only the gel cleanser ended up in the trash. The value for the box combo shown above was around $117 but your box may have a different value depending on which items you chose for yourself.
