Aesthete Box by CLOTH & PAPER Spring 2023 box is here and it was just what I needed as the busy school year was winding down, as it was filled with an assortment of decadent items to help me relax and recharge and it was pretty awesome. Cloth & Paper is known for their stationery and planner supplies but there was none of that in here, it was all dedicated to bath and body items plus a few yummy edible treats. See what I received below!

The Potion Studio Rose Bomb Conditioning Spray ($32) The leave-in detangler and heat-protectant spray is supposed to be a spray, but for some reason I received a pump top. It’s supposed to be good for all hair types and has aloe, glycerin, wheat protein, rose flower oil, and parfum as some of its ingredients. I’m not a fan of rose-scented products or perfume in my hair so this will be shared with a daughter but I did give it a try first. A word of warning – when you place the top inside for the first time, make sure to do it over a sink because it will force some of the product out. I distributed some of the milky product through the ends of my hair (and skipped the in-shower conditioner since I have very fine hair). I styled as usual. My hair didn’t get much oomph but it did stay soft and silky looking.

Cornea Care Self Heating Eye Mask ($17.50 – buy a box of 30 for $35) These are individually wrapped self-heating eye masks – they heat up when you take them out of the bag! You are supposed to wear them over your eyes as a calming pre-bed ritual, or you could use them when your eyes need a break, or you feel a headache coming on, etc. I think this is a good time to plug in the ear pods and listen to some relaxing tunes or maybe a guided meditation because your eyes are going to be closed anyways.

Palmero Body Facial Steam ($36) I know this looks like an herbal tea but it’s meant to be placed in a bowl with boiling water, then you tent a towel over your head and steam the pores of your face. It’s supposed to reduce skin irritation, relax the pores, prepare the skin for a mask, and of course just feel nice overall. If you have rosacea (like I do) then steaming isn’t recommended but you could place the flowers and herbs in a hot bath and enjoy them that way. Please don’t consume it as a tea as it has comfrey, which is known to damage the liver when taken orally.

Aesthete by Cloth & Paper Basilica Solid Perfume ($60 listed value) We received a candle with this scent in a previous box and I adored it so I was happily surprised to receive the same scent in a solid fragrance form! It is supposed to remind one of “rich woods, stained glass, and ornate trimmings of the basilicas in Florence, Italy”. It has a base of beeswax and safflower oil and is scented with fragrance oil. The container is sturdy and solid and you simply swipe a finger along the top, apply to pulse points, and enjoy. I detected some woody notes and burnt sugar, and the card says it has vanilla, warm spices, and aged oak. It’s absolutely lovely, warm with a hint of sweetness and something deep that is both comforting and sensuous. It doesn’t really project and it’s not long lasting but then again were already into hot, humid weather here in Texas but I could wear this every day, I love it.

Tusol Organic Cacao Latte ($35) This drink mix is stirred into hot water to make a cacao latte (like hot cocoa, but with some added superfoods and no added sugar). It’s supposed to boost the mood and the immune system while reducing stress and even helps the hair and skin. Some of the ingredients include cacao, coconut milk powder, cashew milk powder, ashwagandha, reishi, and stevia. It’s not very sweet yet there’s that stevia aftertaste that affects some consumers (such as me). I stirred 3 tablespoons of the powder into 1 cup of hot water and I must say, it was very creamy and decadent. It didn’t taste like mushrooms or herbs but like creamy cocoa.

Sunday Citizen x Cloth & Paper Snug Waffle Robe in Taupe ($140) We received a throw blanket in a previous box from this brand and I absolutely love it, I use it all the time during the winter. Now I have a robe from the same brand and it’s just as cozy and comforting! It’s made of 100% microfiber and has a belt and loops so you can quickly wrap up in its cloud-like comfort. It comes in One Size and as you can see in the photo, it fits my size 18/2XL body. It also has pockets and it’s machine washable. I love it!

Mello Relaxing Milk Chocolate ($8.99) Mmm, chocolate! This brand makes caffeinated chocolate called Awake, so their wind-down version is called Mello. This is really smooth milk chocolate that is enhanced with L-theanine and lemon balm to promote relaxation, although it can be consumed any time of day. It reminds me of Dove Chocolate rather than Hershey’s. There are six individually wrapped mini bars inside the bag.

Wow, what a wonderful collection of products in the latest Aesthete Box! This one was all about soothing items to help me relax, like I was having a spa experience in my own home, and it was filled with so many things that smelled good and tasted good and felt good and are high quality, not a filler item in the bunch. I’m not sure which item was my absolute favorite, but the solid perfume is probably a smidge ahead of the luxurious robe. Chocolate is always a hit with me, and in this case I had some I could eat and some I could drink. The eye masks are a wonderful way to wind down at night, just close your eyes and say ahhh. The face steam and leave in conditioner also smelled good too. The value for this box was around $330! This box is sold out but the Summer 2023 spots will open up soon. This box consistently sends high-quality items, some that will be around for a while and some that are meant to be used up quickly, and it’s a great mix of both.

I received offers from some of the brands featured in this box, plus a sample of yummy caramel coffee m&m’s!

Below you will find the product info card plus some more box opening pictures.

Hmm, I don’t know anything about the quality of Alibaba products but I can say that I washed the robe and there was virtually no lint in my dryer afterwards. I’ve picked up soft blankets at Kohl’s and At Home and quickly put them back after finding lint and fluff all over my shirt, so I think the quality of the robe is quite nice and matches the blanket sent in a previous box. Also, the perfume is lovely and matches the scent of a candle sent in a previous box, and it smells luxe and comparable to niche fragrances that I’ve tried. I’ve received items from other subscriptions that are obviously dollar store or Five Below quality with inflated value tags attached and I’ve called them out, but the items in Aesthete Box are not low quality at all, whether they are from other brands or in-house.
