This is my very first BoxyCharm by Ipsy box! In case you haven’t heard, the two brands have merged and so there are less subscription boxes, from 6 to only 3, and they are all under the Ipsy umbrella. You can read more about the changes here. Upon opening my box I found two brands that I really like along with another well-known brand, plus a couple of lesser known makeup brands. See all of my items below!

DEAL: Get FREE month of Refreshments when you subscribe – that’s up to $15 value!  Deal applies automatically, just VISIT AND SUBSCRIBE. FYI, Refreshments is an add-on subscription to your Ipsy membership. Must cancel after trial if you don’t want to be charged.

The items were packed in their boxes or bubble wrap and arrived safely at my house. I receive Ipsy too and they both shipped in the same box.

Tula Skincare So Smooth Resurfacing & Brightening Fruit Enzyme Mask ($36) I feel like this brand usually has fragrance so I was happy to see that this was fragrance-free! It’s a gentle mask that goes on like a gel and then dissolves dead skin cells so they can be washed away (as opposed to physical exfoliants that scrub them away). Apply to clean skin, wait about ten minutes, and then rinse away. I didn’t feel any irritation and thought it worked fine. It may help reduce the look of pore size, even the skin tone, and leave skin soft. There wasn’t much scent to it at all. Some of the ingredients include glycolic acid, pineapple enzymes, and probiotics.

Supergoop! Daily Dose Hydra-Ceramide Boost + SPF ($46) I was excited to receive this sunscreen oil, since I have dry skin and this has “oil” in the name. I already use a product every day with SPF, although this brand suggests using even more products with SPF to achieve “optimal protection”. I used it instead of my usual moisturizer and then waited a bit for it to sink in before applying makeup. Please note that this isn’t water resistant so use something else if you are going swimming or will be sweating a lot. I was happy to see that it was fragrance-free (no parfum, and the box says no synthetic fragrance) yet it has a light fruity floral scent that comes from what, I can’t tell. It has ceramides and hyaluronic acid, which are great for skin, but I’m not sure this product alone is enough to provide adequate protection from the sun. It’s more like an oily treatment serum that helps protect skin from some of the sun’s rays.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Heat in Lemon Lava ($26) is a plumping lip gloss that’s clear with golden specks. It can be worn alone or over lipstick or liner. It’s scent is warm and fruity — it’s described as peach and it’s sweet and maybe has vanilla too? It burns and tingles for a couple of minutes after applying and feels like classic gloss, a little sticky and very shiny.

LYS Beauty No Limits Cream Bronzer Stick in Harmony ($20) I received the shade meant for those with medium skin-tones so right away I knew this product would be too dark for me. I did try using it and found it easy to blend, almost to the point of it rubbing completely off of my face!

KAB Cosmetics Pressed Glow Powder in French Kiss ($28) I received a shade that’s a soft pink with a golden glow and decided to use it as blush. It’s a pretty color, and didn’t go on super bright, but you could see the golden sheen depending on how I moved my face. This product smells weird to me though, which is odd because it doesn’t have fragrance.

The bronzer stick is swatched on top, the highlighter/blush on bottom.

Not a bad beginning for the new BoxyCharm by Ipsy! I was thrilled to see Supergoop! and Fenty Beauty in my box, and I liked the Tula mask too. I’m not a fan of KAB, plus, my blush smelled funny, but I think the LYS would have been a good product for me if it had been lighter in color, and I liked that it was easy to blend. All of these products and brands, with the exception of KAB, can be found at Sephora and I was happy to discover that fact. The value for the items I received was around $156. I was rather pleased with this box, and I can’t wait to see what else shows up in my mailbox this year!
