I am excited to share my first review of Fire Doll Candle Club! They send hand-poured artisanal candles in interesting, seasonal scents and with extra special touches (wait until you see the top of this month’s candle!). It looks like they might send pillars or candles in containers, it will vary. I am reviewing the Monthly Box ($25.95) but there’s also a quarterly Seasonal Box ($65.95) or a one-time purchase is available if you want to keep it commitment-free.
My candles were packed in boxes so they can be easily gifted if you need something like a hostess gift or a forgotten birthday item.
There were a couple of extras tucked into a sparkly pouch. I received a lollipop, a book of matches, and a vinyl sticker with the Fire Doll logo (which kind of looks like a vintage doll silhouette with a pony that’s flaming hot!).
Patchouli & Cuban Cigar Candle This mini candle has a masculine side and I don’t mind that a bit, I like candles that smell smoky in a burning tobacco kind of way (although I don’t smoke and don’t like the smell of cigarettes). This is warm and has a surprising powdery note and also reminds me of incense.
Sangria Soy Wax Candle I’m not sure which detail I find more charming — the fact that this appears to be in a wine bottle or the adorable and realistic looking “fruits” decorating the top of the candle! This candle smells like a fruity summer drink for grownups and it’s almost too pretty to burn! It’s also rather tall so it should burn for quite a while. I mean it when I say it is in a wine bottle!
Oh how I disliked burning those beautiful fruits but I really enjoyed the light fruity fragrance that floated around my living room!
I was delighted by Fire Doll Candle Club! The candles smell amazing and they had good cold throw and polite throw while burning — this didn’t scent a large area but that’s ok by me, as long as it smells good around the living room table then I’m good. The extras were perfect for this box too — I can always use matches and the sticker is cute, plus how about that lollipop, it’s almost too pretty to eat! The candle was too pretty to burn but I overcame my reluctance and the wax didn’t turn black, it’s all still a pretty merlot color around the top. I thought this scent was perfect for summer, it is based on a drink that is typically served chilled and probably at BBQ’s in backyards around the country. What a cute subscription!
