The August Vegancuts Beauty Box theme was Post-Summer Skin Saviors. There was a shampoo to help remove buildup, a moisturizing body wash, and a beautiful facial oil, plus a few more items. Vegancuts sends vegan and cruelty-free products and they offer a snack box too! See what I received in this month’s box below!

DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription!   It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.

BWC Facial Cleanser ($3.05) This soap is recommended for those with oily to normal skin and contains an AHA to help wash away dead skin cells and oil. I tried it out and noticed that it had a light natural scent thanks to the essential oils. It was a clear product that turned into a lightly foamy milky consistency once it was wet. It didn’t leave my skin tight but I made sure to wear my sunscreen since the AHA’s and essential oils can leave the skin sensitive to the sun.

Plaine Products Body Wash ($4.69) I am always thrilled when I get a new body product, like this cleanser that smells like citrus. It starts with an aloe and glycerin base so it felt silky on my skin and non-drying. I applied some to my shower pouf and it lathered really well and had a light citrus scent (I didn’t really notice the lavender) and I was happy to try a new-to-me brand.

Beauty and the City Fresh Tea Face Mist ($32) I’m personally not a mist/toner kind of gal but I still give them a try when they show up (and have a couple in my collection that has a short ingredients list). This mist has a lot going on and includes ingredients like niacinamide, aloe, plant extracts, and more. Alcohol is near the bottom of the list, probably to help it evaporate quickly. The mist is supposed to reduce oiliness and redness and can be used as a priming mist or as a midday refresher. The scent is kind of weird but fades quickly.

Chiky Botanica Plant Alchemy Luxe Facial Oil ($58) What a cool-looking facial oil! It gets its color from alkanet root, which also provides antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. There are some oils such as rosehip and sunflower, some essential oils, plus ruby gem essence, which the brand didn’t explain on its website. It smells mostly of rose geranium and I thought it did a good job of keeping my skin moist without leaving it greasy or oily.

Nolé Shampoo Bar & Conditioner ($16 listed value) I like shampoo bars and conditioners, they are super easy to use and cut down on a lot of space and waste, plus, I guess they would need less gas to haul them to their destination. I haven’t tried these yet but I am looking forward to using them soon. I have a very sensitive scalp and recently tried a salon brand deep conditioner that has left my scalp angry and irritated and bumpy, so once it is back in balance (thanks to my non-scented Vanicream products) then I should be able to give these a try, but I know that they are meant for oily hair or hair with product buildup.

My August Vegancuts Beauty Box was full of products to help get my hair and skin back on track after the heat of summer. I’ve enjoyed all of the products I’ve tried so far, although the face oil and body wash will probably get used up first. I am looking forward to trying my hair products, especially as my scalp tends to be oily (but irritation is my biggest concern so I need that to be corrected first). Summer can be harsh on skin and hair so I thought it was a great idea to send a shampoo that will help remove product buildup, an oil to bring the skin back into balance, and a body wash to keep skin moist. The mist and cleanser were cool products to try too!
