Simply Earth’s essential oil subscription made the list in our 2021 readers’ choice best green & eco-friendly subscription list!

Everything looks great!

Looks like we received two single oils and two blends!

Everything in my box! Subscribers also receive free access to the online Essential Oil Hero Course to learn even more about how to use the products. Plus, Simply Earth has launched a Toxin-Free Skin Care Formulation Course, so if you are especially into natural beauty products, go to their website and enter your email for more info!

There were six recipe cards inside. Some of the cards have the recipe continue on the other side, others have some important info, so read on below to see what they are saying.

A note from Katie, lead aromatherapist, tells us we are making gift items! Another card informs us that Simply Earth donates a portion of proceeds to help fight human trafficking. Want a discount on your next box? There was info on how to do that.

Here’s a list of everything in this month’s box. I want to remind everyone that they shouldn’t use these oils if they are pregnant or nursing and be careful when using around children and pets.

Here’s a sneak peek at what we will be receiving next month, along with a list of supplies we should have handy, which in this case, nothing is needed.

Here’s a sheet of pre-scored stickers to put on our containers as we complete our projects.

Test Tube Containers These PET plastic test tubes will be used to hold the bath salts.

Simply Earth Dried Lavender Flowers ($3.99) These will also be used to make the bath salts. They are the flower buds from English Lavender.

Gift Tags I received 6 rustic gift tags that can be attached to my homemade gifts!

Sustainable Lip Balm Containers ($1.99) We are making lip balms this month and these little containers are ready to be filled with minty goodness.

Simply Earth Candy Cane Essential Oil ($12.99) When I think of candy canes I think of peppermint 100% of the time, but there’s no peppermint in this blend!

It has spearmint, frankincense, orange, and lemon essential oils. It smells like minty fresh gum!

Simply Earth Cassia Essential Oil ($11.99) I am so excited to add cassia to my collection! It is related to cinnamon and smells just as wonderful and will be diffused a lot this fall.

The back of the bottle tells me which plant is used, which part of the plant the oil comes from, and country of origin.

Simply Earth Lime Essential Oil ($10.99) If you’ve ever grated lime zest then you should have a good idea of what this oil smells like — fresh and uplifting.

It comes from the lime peel and is such a bright scent, you can smell the green.

Simply Earth Winter Spice Essential Oil ($12.99) Winter Spice is another blend and it smells like an evergreen tree. This will also be diffused profusely.

It’s a blend of tangerine, fir needle, and balsam fir oils.

I made a few of the recipes and my results are below!

The diffuser blend is always the most simple thing to make — just place the required number of drops into a diffuser, add water, and turn it on. This combo made my home smell warm and inviting and the cassia was the most prominent of the notes. If you love the recipe, then you can follow the directions on the card to make a master blend, and you should have some mini bottles from the Simply Earth Big Bonus Box on hand.

Next I made the Forever Thankful Roll-On. I had to grab some more items from the Big Bonus Box, like a rollerball applicator bottle and fractionated coconut oil.

I placed the required number of drops in the bottle and swirled them around, then I topped it off with the coconut oil. I made sure the rollerball was in place and then gave it a good shake before placing the tag on the outside. Now I can roll it on whenever I want, and I can especially pick up the lime and mint notes when I wear it.

Finally, I made the Candy Cane Lip Balms. Once again I grabbed some items from the Big Bonus Box, like solid coconut oil, almond oil, and beeswax. I placed the ingredients (except for EO’s) in a Pyrex measuring cup and melted them in the microwave for less than a minute. I made sure the beeswax pellets were melted completely and then stirred in the essential oils. The spout on my cup made it easy to pour in the cardboard containers and I found I had a little extra, and luckily I had an extra lip balm container lying around so I filled that one up too.

This stuff feels great on my lips and is super silky, but be careful if going in the sun as the lime may make lips more likely to burn from the sun (and there was a disclaimer on the recipe card that said this too, and I think it was also mentioned in the online video directions).

I always have fun making the natural beauty and other items thanks to the easy to follow recipes in my Simply Earth Recipe Box! The oils sent this month were so cool, I loved the blends and I’m so happy to add cassia to my collection, it’s like cinnamon but sweeter. My projects were easy to make and the outcome was lovely, and I plan on gifting the lip balms to my daughters (and will keep the unmarked one for myself). Not into lip balm? I’m sure this stuff would feel great on cuticles and rough areas of skin, but maybe use it before bed and not before going out in the sun. I still have the test tubes on hand but need to get some Epsom and Himalayan salts before making the bath salts and will, again, gift to my daughters or a friend.

I love getting the “new oils” and seeing how to mix them for a perfect outcome. You get 5 bottles of oil, all the supplies to make the project including the satisfaction of knowing that it is pure and hole some for my family and pets.
