We have the full spoilers for the August 2021 Beauty Heroes, a deluxe beauty subscription box that features clean beauty brands! Subscribe by the 20th to get this month’s box – or while supplies last!

The featured brand is INGREDIENTS®!

It truly is what’s inside that counts. And this month’s discovery invites you to an inside look at 100% plant-based, organic ingredients in potent concentrations. Ingredients® didn’t just slap a label on their products and call them clean. They’ve done what no beauty brand has dared to do: they listed each ingredient with exact percentages on the front of the box, taking transparency to a whole new level.

This month’s trio is a curated collection of Ingredients® best selling products. The daily skin regimen includes an addictively fragrant Plant Water Mist, a Face Serum in a unique jelly format, and a lightweight, soothing Body Oil with 98.67% organic oils. Step inside.

August’s Beauty Discovery has a value of $128.

More about Ingredients®
Ingredients® is a long-time dream come true for Eric and Myriam Malka, the husband and wife team who founded the eponymous brand, The Art of Shaving. Their vision for Ingredients® is to raise the bar on purity and redefine what healthy, safe and transparent products should be about. Their definition was simple—yet not easy to achieve. The goal: products made with 100% pure plant-based ingredients that would not be diluted with water or processed with petroleum-based ingredients. Ingredients® would contain no hidden fillers or chemical preservatives. For maximum efficacy, they limited their formulas to the fewest ingredients— and delivered them in high dosages. Then they did something radically transparent. It was something no other brand had ever done before. They printed the name of every ingredient—along with the exact percentage used—on the front of each Ingredients® bottle so we can see precisely what each product contains. It was this obsessive focus on natural plant-based ingredients that inspired the company name, Ingredients®.

3-month subscriptions are $45.95/month ($137.85); 6-month subscriptions are $41.95/month ($251.70); and 12-month subscriptions are $39.95/month ($479.40).

Exactly how I feel! I was so excited about all the new brands they have in their store and was hoping for one of the shiny new ones. This isn’t it. Ingredients looks like a drug store brand and everything about it makes me sad. I could’ve maybe gotten excited if there had been a cleanser. I feel as though I have 1000 oils but they never send any face wash.

I’m an annual sub, so I’m getting it. I’ll give it a try and I will do my best to be open minded. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised. I’ll report back.

Are you going to try it? Tell me what you think if you do. 🙂

I have subbed to BH since before it was Beauty Heroes, mine should be here tomorrow, so I will try it. I have rarely been disappointed in all those years.

The naming of the brand is especially unfortunate. I try to research the brand when I see spoilers and “ingredients” skincare brings up 100 things that AREN’T this. Based on the BH shop, I would have expected the entire lineup from the brand in this box. Guess See New is spoiling us! I am very excited about Boxwalla this month though.

I feel this statement exactly, Lauren. I will hold all judgement until I can try the products, but I was really hoping to try something fun from all the new brands they’re carrying now.
I did notice one comment on their Instagram that they didn’t respond to, and it was someone saying: “perhaps nobody guessed this brand in [BH] stories because nobody wanted it.”

        LOL!!!! Ooof. Way harsh, Tai.

I am so confused by this brand’s packaging and marketing. WHO is this for? Men, maybe? They are clean products, but… so is every other product at BH and the online retailers where I shop. The only special thing they did was list the % of each ingredient on the front of the package. Much wow. So transparency. The bottles are hideous. Yes, yes… it’s what’s inside that counts… blah blah. I don’t care. It’s ugly. Reminds me of the back of a store-bought, pre-packaged protein shake.

The price point is very accessible, which is great, but that means I could try it on my own. Except I wouldn’t because at this price point, I’d shop Wabi-Sabi products instead.

I hope these products are amazing and they make me eat my words! And then I hope they redesign their branding.

Haha, Yes! You just know someone on their team was like, “What if we called it Ingredients and then just had…the ingredients (wink, wink) for the design?!”

Meanwhile…Laurel & Reed just announced their first product–from Nini Organics (a brand BH recently started carrying and everyone wanted in the sub box this month).

I agree with wanting to come back to comment after being humbled. We’ll see soon!

I am seriously underwhelmed. Usually can’t wait for the first of the month for my BH, but this one just doesn’t excite me in the least.

I thought I hit respond, but apparently I did not. My comment above was in reply to yours. 🙂

I too was seriously disappointed to see this brand. It’s just not very high value and I guess I’ve been spoiled. Also made me side-eye it cuz the ingredients are so “simple” and yet *still* they must make it all fragrancy. Really?? Not impressed.
