An insert gave a description of each tea, and there was a coupon code to save when stocking up at the online shop.
I found a pack of disposable tea bags. You can use these or a strainer but keep in mind that Amoda sends loose leaf tea so you need some way to get those leaves out when you are done steeping.
The caffeine levels vary in this subscription, from high to caffeine-free.
Naked Teas Galore Berry Explosion My introduction to teas growing up was like this: Lipton, jasmine green, and then berry black. This brought back the flavors of that tea that I bought from the health food store where my mom worked at the time.
I steeped this and decided to add sugar and milk and it was sweet, fruity, and could double as dessert. It would also be refreshing over ice.
The Octavia Tea Company Lime Blossom I loved the aroma I caught when I opened this bag – it smelled like lime hard candies, like a LifeSaver!
Jasmine green tea is paired with lemongrass, calendula, lemon myrtle, and citrus extracts. I steeped it with almost boiling water (turn off before it boils or the tea may be bitter!) for 3 minutes. The flavor was delicious, and I could smell the jasmine and taste the lime flavor. I didn’t even need to add sugar, it was great as is.
The Octavia Tea Company Acai Berry White tea is lower in caffeine than green tea and as far as I can tell doesn’t have a strong flavor profile, which makes it a good base for fruity accompaniments like the kind in this blend.
Rosehips and currants can be seen in this shot, and there are acai and blueberry flavors. Pretty much anything with hibiscus in it tastes like cranberry juice to me, so expect some berry flavors and tartness. I needed sugar in mine to tame the pucker. I think this would also work well over ice.
Naked Teas Galore Lemon Meringue Tulsi is our herbal flavor of the month. I drink this type in the evening, and it’s relaxing and refreshing too.
Tulsi is also known as Holy Basil and it has a mint flavor, although it’s not as strong as peppermint. Lemongrass and banana pieces are a couple of the other ingredients and the flavor is sort of minty lemon with a hint of spice. I didn’t even use sugar with this one!
Amoda sends some super cool tea blends and I love sampling new flavors every month! My favorite was the Berry Explosion, it brought back happy memories, but Acai Berry came in second because it also had those wonderful red berry nuances. The other two teas added some different flavors, such as mint and citrus, so it was a well-rounded selection, and fruity teas are always welcome in summer. I think these would all work well for ice tea too, but remember to double the amount of tea you use so that it won’t taste weak when poured over ice.
