Annie’s Crochet Striped Afghan Club is a monthly subscription that sends materials and instructions for making an afghan blanket. It is currently available in five colorways: Plumberry, Seaside, Natural Pearl, Cozy Cottage, and Christmas Candy. The kit costs $19.99 each month plus $5.95 shipping ($6.95 in Canada), and in every package, you will be able to create and crochet 3 stripes while building your stitching skills with the aid of expert online video tutorials and helpful included instructions. This is an 11-month kit series wherein you will create 3 stripes for every month, so there will be 30 in all! The first kit includes the yarn and patterns for the first 3 stripes, plus 4 gifts: a crochet hook, a tapestry needle, stitch markers, and a handy illustrated stitch guide. The final kit in the series will guide you through adding the border and finishing the throw, and in the end, you’ll have a brand new handcrafted afghan, based on the breathtaking shades of the coastline.

The purple mailer contains all the items for the starter kit!

It contains 2 plastic pouches inside. One is a guide and the other is the kit itself.

Everything in my box!

Here’s the Crochet Guide! It came neatly packed along with the starter kit gifts.

The illustrated Stitch Guide will be your companion throughout your crocheting journey! The cover showcases the finished product and it looks beautiful!

The crochet stitch guide is really helpful, especially for beginners! The instructions are easy to follow and they are even accompanied by illustrations!

It even has a yarn weight system chart where it categorizes yarn, gauge ranges, and recommended needle sizes.

Aside from the Stitch Guide, the package also has a crochet hook, tapestry needle, and stitch markers.

The crochet needle is used to make loops in thread or yarn, and to interlock them into crochet stitches. Meanwhile, the tapestry needle is a blunt needle with a large eye that can be used for thick threads or bulky yarns. There’s also a pack of stitch markers that look like small plastic safety pins. They are used to hook into the knitted or crocheted stitch within a row and prevent it from slipping out while you continue with your project.

The second pouch has the materials we need for the first three blocks!

It contains 3 rolls of yarns in different colors, plus the patterns of the first 3 stripes.

The pattern guide is useful especially when it’s your first time to make a crocheting project. You can also access video tutorials at the Annie’s Kit Clubs website.

Each stripe gets its own skill level assessment, finished measurements, and pattern notes. The guide also shows how they look so you will have an idea of how they should end up.

The guide also gave us a glimpse of how the finished afghan looks! This made me really excited for months to come until I am finished with this craft!

We got 3 balls of yarn for this set and all of them are 100% anti-piling acrylic yarn.

Having a label is really helpful so we’ll know how to deal with the yarn, especially when we need to wash the finished product. The yarns look high-quality and durable as well.

If you’re looking for a new hobby, and you want to try crocheting, Annie’s Crochet Striped Afghan Club is just perfect! They provide all the materials so there’s no need to shop for supplies on your own. You will also learn a lot by tuning in to the online video tutorials and by reading the guide, and after 11 months, you’ll have a seaside-inspired afghan that you can use in your home! I’m really excited for the final throw as the pattern guide gave us a peek at it!
