I received a card that announced the August theme and gave directions to the Instagram site so you can share your luscious lip looks!
The back of the card listed each item and provided some info and MSRP. You can generally expect bright and dark colors along with the more traditional shades.

Beauty Vaulte X TailorMadeJane Liquid Lipstick in Send Nudes ($12.50) Send Nudes is, you guessed it, a nude shade of lip color.
I liked the applicator and the lip color felt good on my lips. It has a glossy finish but it isn’t sticky or goopy. The color is kind of opaque and although this shade didn’t look very good on me, it didn’t look terrible and I might see if I can mix it up with another color.
Dirty Little Secret Matte Lipstick in Rust ($14) I received two reds in this month’s box that are similar, although this one can be applied lightly for less color payoff.
I applied with the applicator and then used a lip brush to spread it around. It dries quickly so work fast! It left a slightly tacky feeling on part of my lips. It dried to a matte finish.
Laritzy Comestics Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Swoon ($20) Laritzy seems to be in a lot of my beauty boxes recently. They actually started out as a beauty box several years ago and then switched to selling vegan and cruelty-free makeup.
Swoon is described as a “deep scarlet red” and this lipstick has a fine metallic shimmer. The color is similar to the other red lipstick in this month’s box, but with shimmer. It dries super quickly so I made sure to use my lip brush to push it around on my lips before it set. It dried to a matte finish but with a glowiness that I really liked.

I was really happy with my August Lipstick Junkie box! I know that two of the colors had similar finishes and colors but I liked them both so that’s a win for me. I was less pleased with the color of the gloss but I liked the feel and finish. Keep in mind that this box sometimes sends very bold, non-traditional colors and according to their Instagram page they will be sending a blue grey shade in the September box.
