The theme this month is SUMMER FRUITS OF JAPAN.
Japan is known for producing the some of the tastiest fruits in the world. Since only 12% of Japan is arable (compared to 45% in the US), Japan has focused on making the best use of their land and producing the best possible produce. Because of this, the flavor and sweetness of a typical Japanese fruit is leaps and bounds better than fruits you can find elsewhere.
And summer time is when many of these fruits are harvested and enjoyed! This month we feature a few of these summer delicacies: Hokkaido melons, Yamagata white peaches, Kyoho grapes, Japanese limes, Nagoya cherries. By the way, did you know that you can buy $100 melons in Japan?!
