Welcome to the second part of Snakku’s Samurai 侍 series where we highlight the most prominent warlords in Japanese history. This month we’re highlighting Tokugawa Iyesau, undoubtedly the most powerful samurai in Japan’s history.
Tokugawa was extremely strategic and leveraged military might and political diplomacy in his rise to power, becoming the first ever shogun to unify all of Japan under the Tokugawa Shogunate (military government) and establishing the Edo Period.
