We are greeted with a uniquely laid out box that features the 2 crafting activities and its materials.
It is designed to fit the needs of the UK Royal mail – but in the cutest little flat box! You know this one is really going to grab and go!
Everything in the box!
We also got a colorful sticker sheet! It features different kinds of animals and characters having fun and doing their everyday activities!
Let’s see what the magazine has in store for us!
This month, we are going to explore and celebrate the local community!
There’s also a cool game where every good deed you’ll do will earn points. The player with the most number of points wins!
Can you guess which 5 books Al will enjoy by coloring them? There’s a hint!
The booklet is fun and interactive. The kids can draw their own character, or just use the stickers to create a scene!
Using a simple chemical reaction, we can try to polish some pennies. We just need some vinegar, salt, water, cups, a kitchen roll, a spoon, and of course, old copper coins.
The kids can also design their own painting by drawing all the masterpieces on this page.
They created a story and it’s an effective set up for a drawing activity.
There’s also a photo album that features some photos that subscribers submitted by using the hashtag #toucanboxmag. Also, there’s a hint on what to expect on the next box!
Another feature is a coloring postcard with the STEAM team preparing for the festivities!
The back of the postcard is where you can write your message to the person you’ll be sending it to, their address, and a box to place the stamp.
Here are some bonus stickers featuring the team on their Winter adventures! My sons helped each other out in finishing the on-page activities and used the stickers!
These packs contain the materials for this month’s activities!
Activity No. 1: Christmas Wreath. The first activity is making a Christmas decor, which is a wreath.
For this activity, the box provided the following materials: double-sided tape, glitter glue, ribbon, felt strips, sticky back felt holly leaves, sticky back pom poms, and the wreath base.
The instructions were all well-pictured on this booklet, so the kids can easily follow and do them.
They also added glitters to make the wreath shine!
Here’s the finished wreath, they also placed the ribbon around the top of the wreath.
This beautiful festive decoration is ready to hang.
It’s so glittery! My son was pleased with the final output.
Activity No. 2: Arctic Polar Bear. The next activity is making a polar bear costume!
For this activity, we’ll need the following: felt mittens, wool, needle, paw, toes, ear sticky back felt, headband, and ears sticky back felt.
This activity just requires sticking the felts on the mittens and the headband to create the costume. There’s also an activity on the instruction booklet where the kids need to match who lives in each igloo.
My son is working on the mitten by sticking the paw felt on them.
After he finished all the sticking, he tried them on! So cute!
This Holiday edition of toucanBox is really fantastic, and I can say that my child really enjoyed the activities in this box. The box aims to help children develop their artistic and crafty sides, and at the same time, provides fun and more learning! The box also provided the materials needed for each activity so it is easier for the kids to do them, and just enjoy. This is the perfect box for a great family bonding time!
